A Purple Sig Sauer .22 LR Pistol called Mosquito

Picture from Sig Sauer website

If you are looking for a pistol that is the perfect color and feel then I may have found just the one. :D

I have decided recently to find a great .22 pistol that I can take to the range and go through a ton of ammo for a fraction of the cost. And wouldn’t you know it, I run into a purple Sig Sauer. I was so excited I dropped my other searches to look into this beauty.

Right off, I can say that the name leaves something to be desired. The Mosquito is certainly not making me rush out and buy it. Not really sure why they would name a firearm after an annoying pest that sucks your blood (especially if their target audience is the female population).

However, the Mosquito does come in several color options ranging from a solid black to camo, and of course the purple and black. So for someone hoping to match their gun with their shoes, this gun will give you that option…and yes it even comes in pink.

In my search, I did find that the reviews on this gun are split down the middle. You will like this gun or you will hate it. The reason for this split is due to the fact that this gun takes high performance ammo. Many reviews mention that the cheaper ammo will cause several Failure to Ejects (FTEs) within the first 10 rounds. But if you use the higher performance more expensive ammo, the gun tends be just fine and you can fire several hundred rounds.
The Mosquito is a scaled down version of the Sig P226®, which has high reviews, combined with the fact that this is a Sig Sauer brand, one can hope that this pistol would be an awesome gun to have.

Some interesting features.
This gun comes with a fixed barrel, which improves the accuracy of the pistol.
It is outfitted with an integral accessory rail (a place to attach a Classic Pistol Laser)
It holds ten in the Mag and one in the berral

All in all I believe I will have a new member of my range guns in the near future.
