Printable Character Fortune Teller Inspired by PAW Patrol: ALL PAWS ON DECK!

PAW Patrol is back with a brand new DVD, PAW Patrol: All Paws on Deck, featuring many of their pals from previous episodes! We get to see our favorite pups getting assistance from Everest, Tracker, Sweetie, Tuck, Ella, Rex, Liberty, and more! That is quite a lineup! PAW Patrol: All Paws on Deck has our friends on a brand new adventure as they jump into action to save Adventure Bay from a 10-year-old genius, Codi Gizmody, and her diabolical device. Using her near science fiction equipment, Codi seeks to relocate all of the buildings in Adventure Bay and change the area into her own private island. However, the pups look to stop the scheme and save their town from being disassembled.

Like other PAW Patrol DVDs, this series encourages teamwork, problem solving, and relying on others. It may be a crazy situation with the possibility of their home never being the same again, but the PAW Patrol knows with effort and help, they can save their town. As always, a great message for the younger audience.

My Favorite Holiday Advent Calendars Have Been Released!

I have been watching the release of Holiday Advent Calendars, waiting for my favorite one to hit the market, Star Wars LEGO. Recently, LEGO released their advent calendar collection! Their collection includes Harry Potter, LEGO Friends, LEGO City, LEGO Star Wars (YAY!), and LEGO Marvel! It is an amazing collection with some fantastic minifigs, mini builds, and Christmas-fied characters.

As a Star Wars fan, my favorite Advent Calendar is the LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar! It usually has some popular characters in Christmas attire; one year it was Darth Vader, another it was Darth Maul. This year, we get the head of the Sith, The Emperor! He is obviously ready for Christmas with his Death Star Ugly Sweater and red mug. One of the countdown days even includes the Emperor’s throne. After all, this holiday Sith needs his chair.

The LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar also includes an adorable Christmas Ewok in a green hood and a Gonk Droid dressed as a reindeer! I have to have this Gonk Droid and Ewok, they are fantastically done! The Ewok has an Ugly Sweater Hood and the Gonk Droid is read to pull a small Sandcrawler sleigh. Although, I think they should have given him a red nose. hahaha

Of course, the LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar is not the only advent calendar to check out this year. Along with the LEGO collection, there are Funko POP! calendars, themed calendars, and even random fandoms! Five Nights at Freddy’s is Coming to the Big Screen

On October 27, 2023 fans will be able to watch the all-new horror film Five Nights at Freddy’s in theaters and stream it on Peacock+! This horror film will be based off of the ever popular horror game, Five Nights at Freddy’s by Scott Cawthon, which has soared in popularity since its debut. The film’s iconic animatronic characters will be created by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

Five Nights at Freddy’s will star Josh Hutcherson (Hunger Games), Mary Stuart Masterson (Blindspot, Fried Green Tomatoes), as Mike’s icy Aunt Jane; Kat Conner Sterling (We Have a Ghost, 9-1-1) as Abby’s caring babysitter, Max; and Matthew Lillard (Good Girls, Scream) as Steve Raglan, Mike’s smug career counselor. The film is directed by Emma Tammi (The Wind, Blood Moon) and is written by Scott Cawthon, Emma Tammi and Seth Cuddeback.

The terrifying horror game phenomenon becomes a blood-chilling cinematic event, as Blumhouse— the producer of M3GAN, The Black Phone and The Invisible Man— brings Five Nights at Freddy’s to the big screen.

Monster High The Movie! Review and Yummy Ghoul Juice Recipe!

Get ready for high school with our favorite characters from Monster High. We get to watch as Clawdeen Wolf, Draculaura, Frankie Stein, and more star in the live-action movie musical based on the iconic Monster High franchise about the children of famous monsters and creatures. Monster High The Movie is available on DVD from Paramount Home Entertainment as of August 15, 2023, for the suggested retail price of $10.99.

I got the chance to review Monster High The Movie (affiliate link) and here is what I thought. Spoilers below.

In this version of Monster High, we find Clawdeen an outcast in the human world, and a possible outcast at Monster High. Why? Because she is half human and half wolf. It’s a weird concept since one would think being a werewolf already insinuates that she would be half human. However, in the Monster High lore, werewolves stay wolf-y 24/7. Being half human, Clawdeen shifts between human form and wolf form and this uncontrolled shift could have Clawdeen removed from Monster High, where she is finally being accepted by her peers.

Thankfully, Clawdeen meets amazing friends who are supportive of her quirks, just as she supports them. Together, they attempt to help Clawdeen remain a wolf 24/7 by using Draculaura’s forbidden witchcraft to find Hyde’s lab and the monster formula.

This friendship power sticks true to the animated series, as we see Clawdeen Wolf, Draculaura, Frankie Stein, and many others have the “friendship is more important than anything” vibe. It is the driving force that makes the group able to face anything as long as they are together, even if it means going against the rules of the school, advice from adults, or parental guidance.

While I am not keen on the constant insubordination as the characters defy authority, it is a friendship story. When the secrets do eventually get unburied and the truth gets out, adults and students come together to fix what is broken and make Monster High a safe place for all.

Since the story isn’t bad, and follows the theme of Monster High, I will give the movie 4 stars. However, as a fan of the animated series, I have to knock it one star for a couple of reasons.

  1. There are a few unneeded moments of political mumbo-jumbo points that will make fans roll their eyes. Can we just have a movie with out all of the bows to reality? It is getting cumbersome.
  2. The ‘good guy goes bad guy’ film trope is over used and falls short of compelling. We need a new story telling guide. This classic growth to climax and fall is so overdone, it is like beating a zombie.

I do however, recommend watching Monster High The Movie. The music is fun, the costumes try to match the animated series, and the friendship power is inspirational.

Anna’s Hot Cocoa Blizzard Recipe from Disney

This week, Disney’s Facebook page shared a recipe featuring Anna from Disney’s Frozen and her delicious Hot Cocoa Blizzard. Let me put this into perspective. It is mid summer, hotter than Hades’ fire, and we are given a holiday recipe meant to warm the bones in the dead of winter. Hey Disney, not all of us have am Elsa that can produce a blizzard in the summer months, hahaha

Since it is hot outside, and Disney has provided a great recipe for the chocolate lovers, there are two ideas that can change this drink from a winter drink to a summer drink. After you make the drink following the recipe provided below and before you add the whipped cream, you can do one of two things.

  1. Let the drink cool and then add fun snowflake ice cubes (affiliate link).This will turn the Hot Cocoa into an Iced Cocoa., sort of like an Iced Mocha. Follow up with the whipped cream topping and a sprinkle of chocolate shavings and the drink has become a cooling sensation for the whole family.
  1. Let the drink cool place 1 cup of the hot chocolate in a blender with a cup of ice and blend until it becomes a frappe. Add a few chocolate chips while blending to give it the extra chocolate oomph it needs. Once blended to your liking, top with whipped cream. Now the hot beverage is the perfected iced drink for summer.

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups of Milk
  • 1/4 Cup Hot Cocoa Powder
  • 3/4 Cup Sugar
  • Chopped Chocolate Bar
  • Whipped Cream

Directions

  1. Gather cocoa powder, milk, and sugar
  2. Over medium heat, whisk mixture until warm (not boiling)
  3. Add chopped chocolate bar and whisk until it melts in smoothly
  4. Pour into your favorite mug and top with whipped cream
