Celebrate National Dessert Day with Boo Treats

After watching a few Halloween movies, I discovered that to break a spell, which could have been cast on my family, friends, or even neighborhood, I would have to say the original spell backwards. For example, if the spell was one word “Trap”, to break it I would have to say “Part”. Once I discovered this, I realized this may work in real life as well.

How? Let’s say that I am very unprepared for the Halloween season. Party Planning, invitations, candies, food, costumes, and all the other details are looming over my shoulders and I am a basket case filled to the brim with stress. It turns out that we can use what I learned in a few Halloween movie to change my stressed day into something more enjoyable. Why? Because “stressed” backwards is “Desserts”.

So in honor of National Dessert Day, I think all of us stressed people should utter our current spell backwards and claim dessert day as our own. Grab a sunday, a banana Split, a cookie, or even a small chocolate bar. Savor it…relax…and let the stress disappear. Cancel the negative on this National Dessert Day. Just don’t go too overboard because too much of a good thing can turn bad.

This National Dessert Day, I thought I would share one of the cutest Halloween Desserts I have ever seen, the Halloween Boo Treats found on www.orientaltrading.com.

These are so easy to make and can be made with any flavor gelatin. Simply follow the recipe below and BOOM, Mational Dessert Day is a success. If you wish to keep the recipe click the print button to print or save the file as a PDF.

Halloween Boo Treats

  • Servings: 8
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup boiling water
  • 1 3 oz. pkg. orange flavored gelatin
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 2/3 cup whipped topping divided
  • 16 miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Add boiling water to gelatin mix in large bowl; stir until completely dissolved
  2. Add ice, stir until gelatin is thickened, remove any unmelted ice.
  3. Whisk in 1/3 cup whipped topping until well blended. Pour into eight shot glass size containers.
  4. Refrigerate until firm, approx. 30 min.
  5. Drop remaining whipped topping by spoonfuls onto desserts to resemble ghosts. Add chocolate chips for eyes.

Free Halloween Star Wars Printable Pumpkin Templates

Is the Force with you this Halloween? Have you decorated with Star Wars in mind and made your costume to feature Rey, Finn, or maybe a First Order Stormtrooper? If so, I can’t stress enough that the theme should continue straight into the night with some Geeky Star Wars Pumpkins. It just sets the mood, and every trick-or-treater will be able to identify it with joy.

Of course, templates are not the easiest thing to fabricate, therefore, I took the liberty this Halloween, to find you a few templates that will knock those trick-or-treater’s socks off…or at the very least make them admire your lovely Star Wars Pumpkin.

I should mention that this is just a fraction of the Star Wars pumpkin templates that are out there. All you have to do is do a google search for “Star Wars Pumpkins” and you will find a mess load of geekiness that your brain will nearly overload with excitement. The ones I have posted below are some of my favorites that I like to carve. They get some of the best results from fans and those coming to my door looking for free candy.

In light of National Face Your Fears Day today, I encourage you to ask yourself, “What am I most afraid of?” Personally, I don’t have to dig very deep to find my greatest fear. I have a phobia of spiders. An irrational, turn-my-skin-to-white phobia. Even if today is National face your fears day, I have no intention of seeking out an eight-legged freak to face the fear.     Printable Halloween Coloring Page of Ms. Featherbon from Whisker Haven

    I was going through the images featured on the Whisker Haven Facebook page, when I came across an adorable Halloween image of Ms. Featherbon in a pumpkin costume with a purple witch’s hat. Inspiration hit, and I had to change her into a coloring page.

    Ms. Featherbon is a hummingbird fairy, who is the magical gatekeeper of Whisker Haven! She helps keep the peace, inspire, and maintain a relaxing environment for all the princess palace pets and the Critterzen of Whisker Haven. Obviously she has a wonderful fun side dressing in a pumpkin and a witch’s hat.

    At New York Comic Con, fans were treated to a sneak peek of Season 2 when the cast and crew screened a full episode and answered fan questions on the Main Stage at Javits Center.     Free Slugterra Halloween Coloring Page of Burpy

    Halloween… The time to dress in costumes, beg for free candy, and have the biggest party bashes in history. It may be a human tradition, but I am pretty sure Slugs would enjoy it to, if they knew of the upper world and all the fun that it possesses. In fact, Burpy does know of the joys and has already gotten ready for this Halloween Season! It is the perfect season for the slug that loves pranks and treats!

    In the spirit of the season. I gave Burpy a heroic costume featuring a Zorro mask and hat. He also carries with him a slug size Trick or treat bag. After all, Slugs want free candy too.

    Mr Chow Halloween Coloring Page from Palace Pets

    While Mr. Chow loves to fill up on kibble, he also love the occasional treat, especially around Halloween. His appetite for the holiday reflect with all the goodies he shares in his shop.

    OK, so we may have not seen his shop decorated in all the best Halloween treats, we know for a fact a Critterzens like Mr. Chow wouldn’t leave the most delicious holiday alone. He would be snacking like a pro and making sure all the Palace Pets are enjoying the season as well. With that in mind. I had to remake Chows coloring page into a special Halloween edition. Mr. Chow is now featured eating delicious Halloween treats with a cute pumpkin picture.
