Carlos’ Chocolate Yogurt ‘Pups’ Recipe from Descendants

Carlos chocolate yogurt pups

I would not want to be a child of any of the Disney Villains, but if I had to choose one I would never ever want to have as a member of my family, it would have to be Cruella de Vil. That woman has no reason to kill dogs other than being cruel beyond all reason. She isn’t looking for power to take over a kingdom or rule the world, she isn’t looking for revenge for not being invited to a party, nor is she all about her looks, catching a prince and becoming an egotistical fairest-in-the-land bimbo. Cruella de Vil wants fur coats. She wants the skins of animals to drape from her shoulders in style and she will do what it takes to get what she wants, even if that means killing over 100 puppies to do it. *shiver* Yup, Cruella de Vil is the last on my list I would ever want for a mother.

Unfortunately for Carlos, he drew the not-so-winning lottery ticket. His mom is Cruella de Vil. Forced to be a slave in his own home and brain-washed to fear dogs, Carlos has lived much of his life terrified of one thing or another, including his mother. Luckily for him, he was transferred to a new school, made some new friends and learned that dogs are not actually vicious pack animals. In honor of his new found love for dogs, Carlos’ recipe features Chocolate Yogurt ‘Pups.’ (wait so he has gone from fearing them, to loving them, and now to eating them?…interesting) Anyway, these cute yogurt pops are styled to look like little Dalmatian pups (cute but creepy).

How to Make it
To make this recipe, you will need to melt chocolate. Below is our preferred and suggested method of melting chocolate

How to melt chocolate using the double broiler method

  1. In a small or medium-sized pot, bring an inch of water to a simmer over low heat.
  2. Set a heatproof bowl in the open mouth of the pot, making sure the water doesn’t touch the bottome of the bowl.
  3. Place the chocolate in the bowl and stir occasionally with a plastic spatula.
  4. When almost all the chocolate is melted, remove the bowl from the pot. Continue to stir the chocolate until it is smooth and completely melted

Directions

  1. 1 melt 1/2 cup chocolate candy wafers. Coat one end of each pretzel rod halfway up with chocolate and place on a wax-paper-lined tray. Place Tray in the refrigerator for 10 minutes in order for the chocolate to harden.
  2. In a large bowl, combine yogurt, vanilla extract, honey and chocolate chips.
  3. Scoop yogurt mixture into pop molds. Place in the freezer for 15 minutes.
  4. Place the chocolate-coated end of each pretzel rod into the yogurt pops. Place in the freezer for 6 hours to freeze completely.
  5. Place pop mold’s tips in warm water to remove yogurt pops from the mold
  6. Place a pair of edible candy eyes on each yogurt pop so that each pop resembles a Dalmatian puppy
