I am going to be completely honest with everyone, Miles From Tomorrowland: Let’s Rocket Rocks! No I mean it! Like many children TV shows, we have the moral teachings of family, friends, and life. Such as: If you fall get back up and try again, practice makes us better, and honesty is the best policy even if it stops you from doing what you want. Not to mention what it means to be brave, work with others and being kind to your siblings. These messages are beautifully written into a great adventure series that doesn’t feel forced but flows naturally as the story unfolds.

Miles from Tomorrowland Blodger

Messages can be difficult to place in a story without the story sounding ridged or square. However, Miles from Tomorrowland makes it feel natural and interesting. For example, in Explorer Exchange, we see Miles trying to find something both he and Blodger (an alien blob) like to do. At first it is difficult. Blob can’t speed around or race and Miles can’t do anything Blob likes to do. They almost seem too different until Blodger sees Miles space jink collection. It turns out they both collect junk and love to go out finding it. Along with Miles, we learn that no matter how different we are, we can all get along and find something in common. This brilliant message is weaved into the story so that kids and adults can easily learn it’s importance.

Miles from Tomorrowland exoflex

I have to admit, I love the way these stories are written and that the story lines absolutely keep the attention of all the little viewers, but I also love the little nod to adult viewers as well. Parents will enjoy the little geek nods to other pop-culture films Like Star Wars and Doctor Who. If you watch and listen carefully you may just catch each of them. For example, in Rock n Roll, Miles brings out a rather large machine called the Exo-Flex from a very tiny shuttle. I may be stretching it a bit but while I was watching the scene, I couldn’t help but think, “It must be bigger on the inside.” Sometimes the geek just flows out of me. A little hint: when you watch “Hiccup in a Plan” keep an ear out for a famous Star Wars quote.

It has been a long time since I have been completely entertained by a Disney Junior TV series. It is refreshing to see some new stories and adventures as Miles travels through space with his family and friends. Not to mention a few geeky pop-culture nods for the adults. This collection is a astrolutly great testament to the TV series and it is a must watch for ever young galactic space traveler. Grab your copy today at Amazon.com and begin the adventure! The DVD also comes with a great Blast Board light that is bright and works beautifully. It was going to sit on my key chain but another member of my family beat me to it. Apparently I am, “Too slow.”
