Are You Afraid of the Dark? DIY Campfire and S’Mores

Summer evenings are the perfect time for sharing scary stories around the campfire… but what do we do if a real fire isn’t an option? And what would a campfire be without s’mores? To celebrate the DVD release of Are You Afraid of the Dark?, we’re excited to share this cardboard campfire craft and s’mores recipe!

The Cardboard Campfire is easy to make with just a few simple household items and a little creativity. The items needed to male the campfire are:

  • 3 empty toilet paper rolls
  • 2 empty paper towel rolls
  • medium cardboard box
  • campfire template
  • brown paint
  • Coloring pencils or crayons
  • tape or glue

To get the template and the instructions click the image at the bottom of this page and save the PDF to your computer. Then print and create.

The PDF below also includes a yummy S’Mores recipe with a fun decoration featuring a “wax” seal with the symbol of The Midnight Society. To make these you will need:

  • 12 Graham Crackers (24 halves)
  • 12 Marshmallows (standard size)
  • 3 milk chocolate bars with dividable pieces
  • 4 oz package of red fondant
  • Butter Knife or Fondant Shaper with a point
  • Wax Stamper
  • Kitchen Torch (optional)
