Google Play brings the ultimate movie of marriage with fighting, farts, revenge, robots, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, and miracles! No, this is not Princess Bride…It is BLiNG! And for a limited time, starting today, Google Play is offering this movie for free! I was so excited that I had to watch the midnight showing! Meaning I watched it at midnight from the comforts of my own home.
The story is very familiar in the way of: man loves girl and wants to propose, girl loves man and wants him to propose, man messes up, girl says she is leaving, man tries to redeem himself. Only in this case, throw in 3 misfit robots programmed to pretend to be superheros and a theme park mechanic named Sam who has bad luck follow him around where ever he goes. Like Aunt Kathryn says in the movie, when you are around Sam, “Where a helmet.” While this is a familiar plot line driven by matters of the heart for both villain and would-be-hero, it is far from being any romantic drama. I would consider BLiNG to be an action-packed, futuristic, hilarious romance all taken place on or near Valentine’s Day and the Valentine’s Day Parade.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you are worried this sounds more like an adult movie, don’t fret. The amount of action in this movie and hilarious moments will keep the kids entertained. The movie nearly starts with epic explosions as Sam’s Valentine’s Day themed robot performance goes literally up in flames. The play he wanted to use to propose to Sue is now non-existence. On to the next idea using a hot air balloon, a roller coaster, fireworks, and, once again, his “helpful” robots. Sue, really should have worn a helmet. But does Sam give up? Oh no, we are showered with more crazy ideas and ways that Sam can propose to Sue. The whole way, Sam’s three pretend superhero robots help him get the girl in the best way they know how: by being Super.
These super heroes have very specific talents ranging from “super farts” (why someone would build a robot that farts, I will never know), martial arts, and the ability to spit bubble shields. These superhero features are sure to make the kids laugh, as stink bomb fart bubbles fly through the air. Together, these superheroes go from pretend heroes to Real heroes when they get involved in rescuing a ring they thought was Sam’s and end up in a secret villainy plot. As they say, “I guess I can scratch fake hero off my resume.”
Just like Sam, our villain, Oscar, also want the girl of his dreams. He also creates eccentric plans to get the girl to marry him. Only in this case, his super villainy self is more of the creepy stalker than a romantic teddy bear. His plans all turn to threatening the city and its people. When he steals the perfect “great ring” for the one he loves, disasters of giant proportions begin to threaten and attack the theme park and the city. With so many possible proposals and affairs of the heart, will love save the city in a miraculous way or will it fall into the doom of heart break? find out for yourself on the next addition of BLiNG. Ha! Just kidding. Actually, you and your family can just watch BLiNG on Google Play right now for free!
About BLiNG:
BLiNG is rated PG due to some of the humor and action/violence (there are several fight scenes where robots battle each other in a good vs bad epic showdown). It features the voice talents of Taylor Kitsch (“Friday Night Lights,” John Carter), Carla Gugino (“The Brink,” Spy Kids) and James Woods (“Justice League Action,” Hercules) and distributed by Momentum Pictures and produced by DigiArt in association with Digital Idea and Celsius Entertainment.
Synopsis:
Lowly theme park mechanic Sam dreams about his childhood sweetheart Sue. With the mistaken belief that only a bling ring can win the girl of his dreams, Sam plans the most perfect night to propose to his one true love. But when super villain Oscar shows up with his own evil ring that could destroy the city, Sam’s plans are thrown into utter disarray. Mistaking each other’s rings for their own, Sam teams up with his robot super heroes to track down his engagement ring and save the city… learning that it’s not about the size of the bling, but the size of your heart.
