Curious George 3: Back to the Jungle Review

Curious George 3 Back to the Jungle

Universal 1440 Entertainment brings back the curious little monkey in an all new adventure called Curious George 3: Back to the Jungle, available on DVD and digital HD today! Follow everyone’s favorite monkey as he rockets into space and crashes to the jungles of Africa, leaving Ted, also known as The Man in the Yellow Hat, to worry and search for him. However, this movie is more than a search and rescue, it is a lesson that anyone can be an ordinary Superman.

Curious George 3 Back to the Jungle flying

From flying a kite to traveling through space to retrieve a device that could save Africa and eventually crashing in the Jungles of Africa, George remains the curious little monkey we all love and adore. His adventures often take him to new places where George meets new friends and discovers new opportunities to be an ordinary superman. For example, in the Jungles of Africa, George rescues a baby Rhino, makes friends with elephants and even saves a papa Lion from falling into the Forsaken Ravine. His bravery and kindness filter to the other animals as he explores the Jungle.

Ted, however, is the direct opposite of George, desiring the comfort of a steady consistent schedule where his dry cleaning is done every Monday. Caution is his motto and he often wishes George would learn some. His trip to the jungles of Africa are more fraught with dangers such as man-eating plants, Large snakes, enormous tigers, stampeding zebras and nasty bugs. If it wasn’t for his desire to find George, he would collapse and give up. In fact, Ted almost does after he finds George and discovers the adventure is not over. Central Africa still needs to be saved.

Curious George 3 Back to the Jungle regretting this in 321

With the help of George and Dr. Kulinda, Ted must muster enough bravery to help save the day…but can he become an ordinary superman like George? Can he learn to throw caution to the wind and not give up on their mission? You will have to watch the movie to find out.

Curious George 3: Back to the Jungle is a great movie for young kids. It has the adventures of a monkey, cute little animals and great musical numbers to sing and dance to. It is 1 hour and 21 minutes long, so it may be too long to sit through for some children. However, kids will end up loving the spirited monkey and his shenanigans as they learn to never give up and anyone can be an ordinary superman as long as they help others.

While this is mostly geared for kids, there are a few jokes for the adults. Mr. Huston, voiced by John Goodman, is a hilarious character with incompetence that even made me laugh. Why Ted ever trusted him or how Mr. Huston ever became in charge of the space mission, we may never know, but he added some much needed plucky comic relief to the long movie.

Adults will also find funny quotes from Ted that are almost oxymorons. For example, when Ted is chasing after George as he is flying through the air holding onto a kite (physics aside, it is a cute scene), Ted yells,

the park is no place to fly a kite

Or during his search for George through the Jungles of Africa, as Ted is finding nature may not be his element, he states

The jungle is no place for a monkey

This movie is a classic children’s cartoon with a simple plot. It shares how anyone, man or monkey, can be an ordinary superman by helping others and never giving up when it gets tough.
