I received a kit full of awesome Spider-Man Far From Home goodies and activities the whole family can do…well most families can do. I learned something about my family with this Spider-Man kit…we are unable to levitate tinsel or make square bubbles. These are talents beyond our capabilities. I believe they require a Wingardium Leviosa moment…anyone have a magical wand? If you wish to try these activities with your family, I am including the instructions at the bottom of this post. Simply download and create.
This Spider man kit came with everything we needed to make and complete the crafts. So we decided to try the Levitation craft first. As instructed we tied all of the tinsel together with two knots 5 inches apart. Yes, we measured it for accuracy. I then took the large PVC pipe and started rubbing it on the back of my head. I figured since I have rather thick, curly, and long hair, I would be the best to form a static charge.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So there I am rubbing this tube on my hair back and forth charging the electrons and slowly my hair begins to send out small shocks with each touch. That has to mean the tube is charged. I pull the tube away only to find that my hair is now standing on end as if I had my hand was on one of those weird plasma balls.
However, this static hair was gonna be worth it if we could get this tinsel to float. With my crazy hair, we hold the tub and drop the tinsel into the PVC pipe. Aaaaand, *plop* it falls to the bottom. Once again I try rubbing this tube back and forth and dropping the tinsel. Again nothing. After several tries, we had to walk away, my hair just could not handle another rubbing hahahaha. If you try and succeed, lets see the pictures! I have to see this in action. If only for the sake of my hair.
Our next failure was the square bubble. We tried to create this amazing unnatural feat but each time the bubble popped, fell through the cube, or just would not sit. The Unnatural was unable to be natural in my home. We had fun trying and ended up just blowing a whole bunch of bubbles everywhere. I would post a pic, but it was a mess…so on to the next, which happens to be a success!
My family can bend light! Oh yes, we are experts at this. Well, sort of. It took putting a few holes in a bottle to get it right. First the hole was too high, then it was to big. We had one hole that was not round enough and just sprayed water everywhere. Glad the kit included so much tape, because otherwise this would have been a failure as well. However, after a puddle in the kitchen and several needless holes we finally figured out the craft! Check out the 10 seconds of success below.
After all these fun crafts, we all enjoyed some Mysterio Cupcakes. You can find that recipe here: Mysterio Cupcake Recipe from Spider-Man Far From Home
I liked it when Thanos’ snap is reversed and Peter Parker comes back.
I loved when Spiderman kissed Mary Jane upside down. That was so cute! The kids hid their eyes and said, “Gross”.
Hanging at the Washington Monument.
My favorite moment is the upside down kiss.
the upside down kiss
The best scene ever was when Spiderman was upside down and kissed Mary Jane. It was awesome!
When he accidentally ordered a drone onto that bully on the bus.
Of course because I am a woman and a romantic I love the upside down kiss! It is my fav. My son would beg to differ!
I love his interactions with Mary Jane!
I like when he flies through the air
