I can’t believe that Thanksgiving is two days away. It really feels like this year has just started and now I am thawing a turkey and getting ready to cook the biggest family dinner of the year.
NOTE: If you have not removed your turkey from the freezer, now is the time to do so.
After the turkey is removed from the freezer, it is time for family fun! With everyone coming together to chat and hang out, it can be beneficial to have a few activates for the younger audience or even the adult audience. This is where Pinterest shines. There are so many activities, printables, crafts, and more featured in the database, I like to go and search for some creative ideas. I found six that I think will be the most fun for the family especially since they require very little to make or do.
Follow the list below to find some of the activities my family will be trying throughout the thanksgiving holiday.
- Beaded Pipe Cleaner Indian Corn by One Little Project
With a few pony beads and some pipe cleaners (all which can be found at a local dollar store) we can create adorable beaded Indian Corn. Simply take 4 pipe cleaners twist them together in the center, add 15 pony beads in fall colors to each strand and twist the top together.
2. Painted Pinecone Turkeys by Live Craft Eat
This craft is fun because it gets the family outside and enjoying nature. Have an activity where everyone has to find their own pinecone. Then, once everyone is inside and relaxing, they can paint and create their own turkey in fantastic fall colors. Add the embellishments of googly eyes and a beak, and the turkey is complete.
3. Toilet Paper Roll Turkey from The Best Ideas For Kids
After the toilet paper shortage of 2020, I am sure many of us are happy to have a few empty rolls laying around the house. Well it is time to use them in the ultimate Thanksgiving craft, by making a Toilet Paper Roll Turkey. Use construction paper for the tail and add a couple googly eyes and it is ready to share the beautiful messages of Thanksgiving.
4. Paper Plate Turkey Wreath by The Resourceful Mama
By cutting a whole in a paper plate, wrapping strips of construction paper and adding pipe cleaners for feet, each family member can create their own unique Paper Plate Turkey Wreath to display on their bedroom door. Of course, one must add googly eyes for the added awesome effect.
5. Free Printable Color By Number Thanksgiving Pages by I Am Style-ish
This craft is so easy! Grab some crayons, print the pages, and let the fun begin! Each number corresponds to a color or get creative and make your own color code!
6. Turkey Corner Bookmark by The Printables Fairy
I am not sure how many kids or adults actually read paper books anymore, but this craft was too cute to pass up. It is a corner bookmark that looks like a turkey. Instead of folding corners, using receipts, or trying to find a suitable page saver, just pop a turkey in the corner and never lose your spot again. Kids and adults can use these. Simply print the template, fold to create, and start saving your place in the amazing book world.
These are the six crafts I found absolutely adorable and fun. Share some of your favorite Thanksgiving crafts in the comments below.!
