I received a copy of Star Trek Prodigy Season 2 on Blu-Ray and here is what I thought. WARNING: Spoilers Below.

Star Trek Prodigy Season 2 follows our six crazy crewmembers as they separate into their own tasks and attempt to adapt to the craziness that is the Starfleet Academy. Gwyn goes off to help her people and her planet. Dal, Jankom Pogm, Zero, Rok-Tahk, and Murf attempt to fit into their new roles. But when Janeway looks to rescue Captain Chakotay, Dal gets the band back together.

Rescuing Captain Chakotay would be a good thing if Janeway wasn’t involved. We all know when it comes to her and temporal forces, time paradoxes will show their teeth. While Janeway is not on the Protostar that travels back in time, I can safely say, it is all her fault. I believe the Q will believe so as well at some point…if they ever get involved. In the mean time, thanks to Janeway, Dal and his friends get sucked into a time traveling wormhole and start their next adventure to rescue Chakotay…or destroy the very fabric of time and space. Honestly, both scenarios could happen at the same time. This is Star Trek aftercall.

The short version of Star Trek Prodigy Season 2 is as follows:
Dal, bored with the Starfleet Academy and missing the stars, decides to get the team back together to follow Janeway. But when things don’t go as planned (shocker), Dal and his friends find themselves in the future on Gwyn’s planet. Thankfully, Captain Chakotay is also there in this future time. But when a rescue fails, time begins to change and Geyn’s existence becomes questionable. Nothing is ever easy for the Protostar crew.

With the help of some crazy allies, including Wesley Crusher (yay!), The crew seeks to fix what they broke, save Gwyn, save her planet, save Captain Chakotay, and save time. It’s a lot to ask of such an outcast crew of Starfleet cadets, but they kind of put themselves into their daunting predicament.

Like Season 1, Star Trek Prodigy Season 2 has it’s moments of darkness. Death is not uncommon. Several scenes will tear at your heart-strings. The director does a great job at keeping the rating of the show low for a younger audience, but it doesn’t take away from the suspense, the action, and the unnerving fact that some will not make it back alive. To keep these scenes from being overwhelming, the show does provide some plucky-comic-relief. Dal is often found to be spouting jokes, Wesley is crazy and a hoot to watch, and even Captain Chakotay has his moments of fun.

With the expected time paradox, the suspense and action, the fun, and two all-new featurettes including exclusive cast & crew interviews , I found the series well worth a watch. In fact, I binged watched it in a weekend. That tells me I enjoyed the series! Also, the series features my favorite Star Trek captain, Janeway, and I love the new characters added to the Star Trek Canon. It’s too bad we won’t see a season 3. 🙁

Each movie and TV show follows a boy named Ryder and his team of exceptional pups as they work together to save their town, Adventure Bay. I received the chance to review the collection and here is what I thought!

PAW Patrol is back with another huge collection of shows featuring over 800 minutes of adventures and teamwork. Everything we have come to love about the PAW Patrol can be found in this ultimate collection, from learning to work together to problem solving. There is no job too big and no pup too small!

PAW Patrol: Ultimate Film & TV Collection contains two theatrical movies, three original TV movies and more than 40 episodes in a beautiful slip case that will look fantastic on any shelf. However, I will say this; the packaging for the Ultimate Collection isn’t as cool as the Marshal Firetruck collection released in 2020. Now that was an epic case for PAW Patrol fans because the case doubled as a toy for the kids!

While the case isn’t as epic as previous collections, what is included in the PAW Patrol: Ultimate Film & TV Collection is exciting! So much PAW Patrol with hours of adventures. The collection comes with 10 discs that feature some of my family’s all time favorites.

It’s hard to believe, but SpongeBob SquarePants has reached their 300th episode! As one of the most watched animated series for the last 22 years, SpongeBob SquarePants has captured the hearts of fans everywhere through laughter, friends, surf, waves, and a weirdness level that stretches the oceans. This weirdness is loved by all fans! We know this because their support has SpongeBob SquarePants celebrating 25 years!

To celebrate this silver anniversary, Nickelodeon is releasing their “Another 100 Episodes” on 14 DVDs and they are releasing ALL 300 episodes on 44 DVDs in a boxed set! The boxed set also includes a deep dive into Bikini Bottom and beyond with Special Features that include “The Story of SpongeBob SquarePants,” a music video, a special crossover episode, several animated shorts and much, much more! That is a lot of hours of SpongeBob SquarePants to binge watch.

Another 100 Episodes and SpongeBob SquarePants: The Best 300 Episodes Ever will each be available on DVD from Paramount Home Entertainment and Nickelodeon Home Entertainment today (October 15th, 2024) for the suggested retail price of $33.99 and $67.99 respectively.

I got the chance to review these collections and here is what I thought.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants, Nickelodeon is releasing two large collections: SpongeBob SquarePants: Another 100 Episodes and SpongeBob SquarePants: The Best 300 Episodes Ever. That is a ton of episodes all wrapped up in two huge disc collections. “Another 100 Episodes” features seasons 10-14 and “The Best 300 Episodes Ever” feature all episodes from seasons 1-14 including special features and shorts.

NOTE, if one is buying, “The Best 300 Episodes Ever”, they will not need to purchase the “Another 100 Episodes” collection because “The Best” includes “Another”.

I wondered, at first, why they would release the two together if “The Best” included everything, and then it hit me. Nickelodeon is actually being very nice to it’s fans. Instead of forcing fans to purchase seasons 1-9 again, they are giving their fanbase the option to simply purchase the seasons they don’t have. I am actually very happy and pleasantly surprised to see such care. Good Job Nickelodeon.

The collections are pretty straight forward. Inside the 300 episode boxed set, we find three cases of DVDs: First 100 Episodes (Seasons 1-5), Next 100 Episodes (Seasons 6-9), and Another 100 Episodes (Seasons 10-14). Like the collections in the past, the DVDs are snapped in place and ready to watch. Thankfully, they kept the collection separated, instead of trying to add all of the seasons into one boxed set. That would have been insanity.

On October 15, 2024, the beloved horror anthology miniseries based on the ‘90s kids’ cult classic, Are You Afraid of the Dark? will be available as a limited series three-season collection through Paramount Home Entertainment and Nickelodeon. The series introduces all-new Midnight Society groups of kids who tell terrifying tales that lead to spooky and shocking revelations!

This nostalgic remake sends the viewers on spooky adventures in three short mini series: Are You Afraid of the Dark? (2019), Are You Afraid of the Dark?: Curse of the Shadows (2021), and Are You Afraid of the Dark?: Ghost Island (2022). Are You Afraid of the Dark? The Limited Series Three-Season Collection (affiliate link) releases in time for the holidays with 3 DVD cases in a giftable slipcase and will be available on DVD from Paramount Home Entertainment and Nickelodeon Home Entertainment for the suggested retail price of $13.99.

I got the chance to review the collection, and here is what I thought!

The first mini-series, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, premiered in October 2019, introducing fans, new and old, to a new Midnight Society. However, telling a story in this series could make it come to life. In season two, Are You Afraid of the Dark?: Curse of the Shadows, fans follow a new group of kids as they learn of a terrifying curse and a mysterious creature. The third and final season included in the three-season collection is, Are You Afraid of the Dark?: Ghost Island. This season features another new group of Midnight Society members as they go on vacation to a resort island. Only spooky mirrors, ghostly figures, and a curse is more than they bargained for.

A quick rundown, I love them. They are nastalgia wrapped in a little cursed blanket, ready to watch for the Halloween season.

As for a review of this Are You Afraid of the Dark? The Limited Series Three-Season Collection set, my thoughts are this.

1. We know I love the seasons and watching the stories unfold. Ever since the first Midnight Society took to the screen, I was hooked. I loved this more than Goosebumps. So releasing this set is a no brainer.
2. I love the fact that the three seasons are being released together. This will certainly save fans money allowing us to buy a boxed set.
3. I adore the fact that each season has it’s own individual case and I am not dealing with sliding DVDs scratching each other.
4. The sleeve that holds the three cases together is a nice touch and looks great on my DVD shelf. The only thing that could have made this better was if they had made the spines of each case make an image, like the hand holding the flame.
5. The Special Features are a fun nod to my childhood and worth a watch!

I received the chance to review this disc collection and here is what I thought.

I grew up watching the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Their butt-kicking, pizza eating, cowabunga attitudes highlighted my Saturday mornings. From Shredder to Krang to the Fly, and all the bad-guys in-between, my turtle friends Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo were there to take me on epic adventures through the streets of New York City and beyond!

This series is especially epic because it was the start of it all! Featuring the TMNT origins on the comic book page to the depths of Dimension X, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles soon became a household name spawning tubular merchandise and toys, sparking the imaginations of all its fans, including my own. My large collection of TMNT toys was and is beyond obsession hahaha.

To release Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Complete Classic Series Collection on DVD is a dream come true! We have seen the newer series hit the shelves in all their epicness, and I have wanted to see the classics also shine. Nickelodeon and Paramount Home Entertainment have finally come together to release the gem, and I am ecstatic! That is well over 65 hours of TMNT fun! For us 80s kids this is amazing and a dream come true. Also, this is such a fun experience to share with my family! Of course, I have been told that the graphics and art are so ‘old’ and ‘bad’, but you know what, they have noodle arm Spongebob Squarepants, so I think their opinion is a little skewed. However, despite the one critique, I know they enjoy watching the original TMNTs.

It is so cool to see the double feature of Planet of the Turtleoids and the bonus episode Once Upon a Machine, which is technically from the 5th season, but released on the 10th season DVD! We also get some exclusive interviews from Curt Walstead, Paul Scarzo, and Scott Heming, we get a look back at our turtles, a cheese pizza recipe (YUM), a look under the shell, and more! These special features are well worth the watch.

Everyone knows I am gonna give one of my favorite series of all time, five stars. It is my childhood in a DVD collection that I can now own! My family and I will be binge watching this for a while!
