I got the opportunity to review the DVD and here is what I thought!
I grew up with the classic smurfs and their “la la la la” singing, the classic Gargamel and his need to suck the magic from the Smurfs, and the classic Azrael and his need to eat the Smurfs. I remember watching the cartoon every time it was on the TV and I remember identifying with Clumsy because of my crazy ability to simply trip over air, fall up the stairs, and break anything within a 10 ft radius….In fact, I still identify with Clumsy. So when I was asked to review a new series featuring The Smurfs, how could I refuse?
First impressions of the all new Smurfs series is we are not in the classic world anymore. The art is very different. We have gone from 2D images to 3d digital rendering where small details like different fabrics will show different textures and fibers. The artists putting the new series together spend a lot of time showcasing the difference between leather and other fabrics. Check out the image below. The Smurfs have a shiny blue skin, their dresses are dull to simulate almost a felt like fabric, and the leather vests look, well, leathery. Even the background image features different textures for the leaves, stones, and metal objects. I am very impressed.
In the new series we still get Smurfs that are named after their main attribute. We still have Grumpy Smurf, Clumsy Smurf, Jokey Smurf, Hefty Smurf, and more. Many of these characters come from the classic show but have been reimagined for the next generation of Smurf Fans. Hefty is still strong, Clumsy is still Clumsy, and Brainy is still….annoying. The gang is all there and is lead by the beloved Papa Smurf. However, thereare new additions to our Smurf family, there are now female Smurfs other than Smurfette!
The female Smurfs come from the movie Smurfs: The Lost Village. “The Smurfs” series continues the story as the two clans come together to create all new adventures and chaos. It is fun to watch them collaborate and learn. For example in Smurf your Seat Belts! Stormy, a female Smurf, and Handy work to create a flying device to keep flying Azrael at bay. At first they compete to see who is better but end up working together in the end, proving that teamwork is amazing. I am loving the fun these new Smurfs provide and the dynamic between the two clans is interesting to watch.
The Smurfs Season 1 Volume 1 features the first 9 episodes from the ne series. It contains much of what we have come to love from The Smurfs, but also something new for an all new generation to fall in love with the little blue characters. I love the art, the characters, and even, the themes, such as teamwork, that flow through each episode as mayhem ensues. I give this collection five stars and look forward to more Smurfy adventures!

I got the chance to review this marvoulous episode collection and here are my thoughts.
I will admit, anything PAW Patrol is big in my house. I love all the teamwork lessons, the problem solving skills, and the empathy that each episode showcases and teaches their audience. It has enough entertainment to keep the little minds occupied and it has a great balance in morals.
PAW Patrol: Rescue Knights continues the the entertainment and morals in their episode collection. While The adventures take place in a fantasy world of dragons, knights, and kingdoms, their true core never changes.: helping others.

My favorite episode is when the Pups have to save baby dragons from Claw in Pups Save the Baby Dragons. When Claw steals some baby dragons, the pups must really follow their motto, “No rescue is too big, no pup knight is too small!” because the baby dragons are bigger than the pups. This means is will take a team to rescue the babies and return them to their mommy. Let me just say, when babies are involved, nothing goes as planned.
Pups Save the Baby Dragons is my favorite episode because the dragons are so cute and I love the teamwork to get the babies back to their momma. Using their new machines, their brains, and, of course, the baby dragons, they work hard to rescue and return the adorable flying fire breathing bundles of joy. If you have never seen a pup ride a dragon, get ready for that to be crossed off your bucket list.
With Baby Dragons, high flying adventures, epic rescues and a fantasy like theme, I truly love this episode collection! PAW Patrol: Rescue Knights continues the themes we have come to love such as teamwork and problem solving in a brand new way. wrapped up with dragons, knighthood, and rescues. I give it five stars!

The Boss Baby is coming back May 19, 2022 in an all new series on Netflix called Boos Baby: Back in the Crib! Continuing from where the second movie left off, Boss Baby is once again a baby and has moved in with his adult older brother. That means, Tim is once again taking care of his baby brother. I can only image where the antics will take us this time, but I can say, I am looking forward to the hilariousness of these two as they work together to keep Baby Corp afloat. Of course, this time, they will have the help of Tim’s daughter Tina.
Like with any series, we need epic arch-nemeses, and this new Boss Baby series will provide us with a new group called The Uncuddleables. It is up to Boss Baby and Tina to take on this new evil all while increasing baby love. Can they succeed? Only time will tell.

Nickelodeon is at it again with a brand new DVD release featuring Blue and her friends in Blue’s Clues and You! Let’s learn with Blue. The DVD contains four episodes that will have preschoolers learning all kinds of new and fun things. The episodes are:

Science with Blue
Colors Everywhere with Blue
ABCs with Blue takes preschoolers on an adventure to figure out what book Blue would like to read. In the episode a lot of items are labeled to help kids recognize the word with the item. For example the word picture is placed in a picture frame, The floor gets labeled floor, and even Josh has Josh on his shirt. It is fun for the preschoolers to search the area, see the words, and find clues that Blue has left. This is one of Blue’s Clues and You! first episodes and really holds true to what Blue’s Clues is all about.
123s with Blue take the audience on fun counting adventure as Josh tries to figure out what Blue wants to buy. There are Blue dollars which gives preschoolers the opportunity to understand the world of shopping. I found this episode so much fun I actually made printable Blue Dollars for the family. We are going to go shopping for items around the house. Be sure to download those by clicking the image below.
Science with Blue brings out the explorer in preschoolers as they follow Blue and Josh in their science journey. Using a magnifying glass we get an Extreme Close-up to check out the small items outside; there is a whole other world that is so tiny. Josh goes from small to big when he and Blue visit the solar system. Josh teaches kid about our solar system with a wonderful song to remember the order of the main planets I love the fact that the song includes Pluto. This alone, gives that episode 5 stars hahaha
In Colors Everywhere with Blue, Preschoolers get to learn what mixtures make what color. After colors go missing, it is up to Josh and Blue to make more and figure out who or what Blue wants to paint. It is a very colorful episode that features several colors and a ton of Blue’s friends.
This DVD, Blue’s Clues and You! Let’s Learn with Blue, is full of so much fun, learning, and engaging content. Honestly, these traits are not a surprise. This is everything we have come to expect out of the Blue’s Clues and You! franchise. Their shows are always top notch fun and full of things preschoolers will learn. However, this episode collection is all about learning the basics of letters, numbers, science, and colors and it does a fantastic job. I give Blue’s Clues and You! Let’s Learn with Blue five stars
