Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out 2 Printable Activities and Coloring Pages

New emotions are running a muck inside the brain of newly minted teenager, Riley, in the all new Disney/Pixar film, Inside Out 2! Kung Fu Panda 4 Movie Review and Giveaway! – Ends 6-30-2024

I received the chance to review Kung Fu Panda 4 and here is what I thought.

Let’s just get the bad news out of the way. Kung Fu Panda 4 isn’t as good as the first installment. It is hard for a sequel to live up to the first film, and there are very few movie series that can actually meet or rival the first movie in a series. Kung Fu Panda 4 is following that norm, mostly because the emotional connection we usually have with Po and the story is a little broken.

In the first few installments, Po was learning how to be the Dragon Warrior, seeking friends and family to help along his journey of growth. In Kung Fu Panda, Po must relinquish the title of Dragon Warrior to become the valley’s spiritual leader. This is heart-breaking for me, and leaves me less emotionally involved knowing that my Dragon Warrior will be leaving as the Valley’s defender. In fact, I almost didn’t watch the movie because I just wasn’t ready for Po to leave behind the role he worked so hard to become. They did this with Cars and Lightning McQueen, and I wasn’t happy then either.

That being said, Kung Fu Panda 4 wasn’t all mushy and tears, nor was it a huge disappointment. Jack Black delivers the voice to Po with the same energy that we have come to love. It would not be the same without Jack Black, and I am happy to see him continue the epic role. His fellow voice actors, Awkwafina, Viola Davis, Bryan Cranston, James Hong, and Ian McShane all do justice to their characters and actually work well next to Jack Blacks crazy energy.

On top of the amazing voice actors delivering phenomenal characters, we also have a high speed, not boring, action film. Kung Fu Panda 4 continues the growth and story of Po as well as the stories of some other characters we have seen throughout the series, such as Tai Lung. It is exciting to see Po, his new friends, and the villains of the past all collide on screen.

To top off the amazing characters and story, we also get the same graphics of past movies. Thankfully the creators kept to the art fans love and made this film with their audience in mind. I was so happy to see my favorite characters as I remember them and not in some weird 3d paper craft art.

Honestly, while the emotional rollercoaster is there, this film is fast paced, full of fun, and high energy. The voice actors deliver extremely well and the art is perfect to the series. Really, it was fantastically made and deserves 5 stars. Also it has Jack Black voicing Po, so really, that already puts it in the 5 star stage hahaha

Arthur the King is No Iron Will, But it’s A Great Man’s Best Friend Film – Review

Lionsgate is taking the sports world by storm with their brand new inspiring movie Arthur the King. When Michael Light signs up, for what could be, his final race, he goes on an adventure that not only includes his team, but also a stray dog that earns the name Arthur. Arthur the King is now available on Digital, DVD, and Blu-ray for the suggested retail price of $39.99.

Thanks to Lionsgate, I received a copy of the Blu-ray to write a review. Here is what I though

Inspired by a true story, Arthur the King is about man’s best friend and the bond that they share. Well, actually, it is a little bit more than that. Arthur the King features man’s best friend but it’s themes are about growth, perseverance, and lasting bonds. It’s an inspiring film that takes place during the 435-mile Adventure Racing World Series.

We meet Michael Light (Mark Wahlberg) as he attempts to win the race. He is unforgiving, rude, and will not listen to his team. This leads to a huge loss and the breakup of his original team. With one last shot to win this epic race, Light forms a new team and once again signs up for the Adventure Racing World Series. However, unless Light can make some changes to to his own character, this race could be doomed to be a repeat loss.

Along the way we meet an adorable stray dog that has never had a home and he is searching for somewhere to belong. We watch as this stray endures cruelty while hungry and cold. Director Simon Cellan Jones succeeded in pulling my heart strings. I was sad and angry for this little stray.

This unlikely duo meet when the team arrives to compete in this long race. In a chance meeting, Michael Light and Arthur quickly find a friend in each other. However, the true surprise is when Light finds that the dog is following them during the race. It’s said that dogs can tell when they have found their family, and Arthur must have seen that in Michael Light.
The story then proceeds to share their trials as they race through storms, dangerous waters, wilderness, and so much more. Light grows as a person, learning to listen to his team and to adapt to crazy situations. The team persevere along with Arthur as they fight to finish the race. Through each trial the bond between Light and Arthur grows leading to a fantastic man’s best friend story.

I think this is a great film about an underdog team finding their way into sporting history. It has action, depth, and, the most important character, a dog named Arthur. While much of this film left me on the edge of my seat, there are a couple things I would have loved to see more of.

  1. I would have loved to see more of Arthur in the beginning. For a movie named after the dog, I wanted more of Arthur. One can never have too much of an adorable dog on screen.
  2. I would have loved for there to be more to the story then just, “I want to win.” Granted a race is about winning, but I wanted more of an Iron Will feel. In Iron will, after the death of his dad, Will had to win the sled dog race in order for his family to keep their land. Arthur the King felt a little shallow and less inspiring. Don’t get me wrong, this is a fantastic movie for sports fans and dog lovers everywhere, I just wanted more.

All in all, Arthur the King is a great film the whole family can enjoy. Be ready for edge of your seat moments, tears, emotional rollercoasters, and more. I give this 5 stars.

DIY Pipe Cleaner Flowers Craft for Mothers Day

There are a lot of Mother’s Day gifts out there that mothers will enjoy. Options include gift cards to their favorite stores, chocolates, their favorite food, something so they can be pampered, a trip to a spa, or even a day without chores or task. Flowers are often accompanied with many of these spectacular choices, and this is where the family comes in.

Sure, you can purchase some fantastic smelling arrangements from a flower shop. These are beautiful and will really make each mom feel special. However, for those looking to do something crafty with a little DIY, everyone in the family can make mom a flower! Using the instructions below, each child…and adult.. can create their own pipe cleaner flower masterpiece with just a few simple items.

What is a pipe cleaner? My family calls them fuzzy wires. A pipe cleaner used to be (and probably still is) used to clean a pipe. However, I I think it is now more common to see them used for crafts. They often come in all colors of the rainbow. Basically, it is a piece of wire covered in soft fluff, usually about 11-12 inches long. They bend to form different shapes making them a fun craft object.

For this DIY flower project, every person in the family, who is wanting to make a flower, will need 4 pipe cleaners: 3 of one color and one in green. This color choice is not a rule of law. The petals can be in multiple colors if so desired, and the stem doesn’t have to be green. This is all about having fun and creating something unique. Craft steps are always a suggestion and can certainly be channeled into something amazingly different. However, for the ease of this craft, the instructions will be listing basic colors

Items needed to make pipe cleaner flowers:

  • 3 Pink Pipe Cleaners for the petals, (you can choose any color to make your flower petals)
  • 1 Green Pipe Cleaner for the stem
  • 1 resin ladybug (optional)
  • Glue Gun (optional, only if you wish to attach the ladybug)

Directions

Please note: all glue gun and cutting should be done by an adult.

1. Take all 4 pipe cleaners and fold them in half. Pinch the ends to add the crease. They will look like a “V”

2. Take one end of the green stem and slide with through the “V” of the pink pipe cleaners. Twist the green pipe cleaner twice to lock the 3 pink pipe cleaners in place. You should now have 6 pink pipe cleaner arms pointing up and two green arms pointing down

3. Roll each of the 6 pink arms into a spiral to form petals. Start at the tip and continue to roll to the end by the green twist.

4. Take the spiral petals and shape the flower by creating a ladder effect with the petals, each layered on top of each other

5. Take one arm of the green pipe cleaner and wrap it around the base of the flower, starting wide and spiraling it down to the stem to form a cone.

6. Take a resin ladybug and glue it to one of the petals using a hot glue gun (NOTE: this should be done by adults)

Your Pipe Cleaner flower is now done!

Make as many as you need to form a bouquet to give to mom for Mother’s Day!

I will be honest, it never occurred to me that Star Wars may just be a series about Luke Skywalker and his ability to avoid being eaten. In each movie, something attempts to devour him: A New Hope – Dianoga, Empire Strikes Back – Wampa, Return of the Jedi – Rancor, Almighty Sarlacc, and Ewoks.

I receievd the chance to review Rubble and Crew: Construction Crew to the Rescue! and here is what I thought.

Rubble and Crew started when Rubble was called to a neighboring Adventure Bay city called Builder Cove. There are projects that Mayor Greatway needs help with. Realizing how much work needs to be done, Rubble has his family move to Builder Cove so that they can help build up the town. Mix, Charger, Wheeler, Motor, Auntie Crane, and Grandpa Gravel move to Builder Cove and they all start a business called Rubble and Crew.

Like PAW Patrol, teamwork and problem solving are huge themes throughout the Rubble and Crew series. Rubble and his crew build stuff together using the machinery they are good at to get the projects done. Whether it’s cleaning up messes using their awesome construction vehicles, or building a fire station, the team comes together to make sure Builder Cove grows safely and quickly.

Hilariously, Rubble and Crew reminds me of the Marvel Universe where a character gets their own spin-off series with cameos of the main characters popping in. Rubble and Crew: Construction Crew to the Rescue! follow similar Marvel themes by bringing in original character cameos from PAW Patrol to help solidify this spin-off series. For example, in this DVD collection, we get to see Marshall as he inspects Builder Cove’s first-ever fire station. Everyone loves Marshall, so this is a great idea to bring fans into the Rubble series.

Of course, Rubble and Crew have their own legs to stand on. Kids love construction vehicles, dogs, and entertainment, so the Rubble and Crew: Construction Crew to the Rescue! DVD is a perfect collection that fans will enjoy. Kids will love watching Rubble and his family build a beaver a home, fix a road, clean up popcorn, find treasure, build a pig barn, build a runway, build a lighthouse, and build a fire station (Hi Marshall). This DVD boasts over 2 hours of entertainment, construction, and adventures that the whole family will enjoy.

DIY Salt Pawprint Keepsake Craft To Remember Those Crazy Moments In Life

The movie Arthur the King is now available to watch! It is a family-friendly movie about the bond between a man and a dog during a huge 435-mile race. This movie is inspirational and based on a true story. However, while Arthur is helping and bonding with Michael Light, my mom’s puppy almost has a sinister side. Before I share this DIY Pawprint Keepsake craft , here is what happened to my mom and me today.

Word of warning, don’t let this innocent face fool you:

So picture this. It’s a cloudy day, the hummingbirds are enjoying the delicious handmade syrup, the pups are playing in their pen, and my mom and I are enjoying the cool air. We decide to bring the puppies in to dry off and relax. Bo comes in first, happy to be inside. We shut the door so he doesn’t run out as we get Buddy, unaware of a nefarious plan.

As I reach to get Buddy, my mom and I hear “clack”

I slowly stand up and turn towards the door like a horror story puppet. Peering down in disbelief, eyes wide, I stare at the sliding glass door.

Through the glass, I see Bo. He almost looked smug. Right there, sitting in front of his little face was the bar that locks our sliding glass door. He had pushed this bar down, locking both my mom and I outside. Yup, he has finally shown his true colors as he barked with excitement. Almost as if he was stating a challenge.

That little turd.

I looked to my mom and simply stated, “Bo locked us out.”

All my mom could utter was, “noooo,” and I simply nodded my head

How we were going to get in was a process of elimination.

First, we tried to slide the door. Stupid, I know, but maybe the bar would become incorporeal, and we could slide the door through its ghostly body. No luck.

We then tried to remove the door from the slide. But if it was that easy, people would break into houses a lot.

When that failed, we began looking at all the windows. My mom is notorious for locking EVERYTHING. So I had little hope this would produce an entry. However, as luck would have it, while doing dishes, a spider was chilling on the window, and I refused to reach up and lock it a couple of days ago. We had our entry point thanks to an eight legged menace!

My mom proceeded to remove the screen and slide the window open. Upset with our sudden success, Bo began barking at us, almost as if he couldn’t believe we were this smart. Freaking Bo.

Once the window was opened, I gave my mom a knee for her to stand on, and she slithered through the window. Well, more like monkey-ed through the window. With Tarzan like skill, she was able to jump through the window and stand on the sink. She then carefully jumped to the floor. Bo looked befuddled. We beat his evil-inator this time.

While this nefarious plot was a crazy situation testing our wits, we still love Bo and will probably.. maybe…make this adorable pawprint keepsake.
