Appa Apple Dog Treat Recipe Inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender!

It is all about the animals when it comes to Avatar: The Last Airbender (ATLA). From Sky Bison to Lion Turtles, the animals featured in ATLA are epic hybrids! My guess is this is why Nickelodeon has started their #AvatarAllAboutTheAnimals campaign. It is time to showcase the hybridized creatures and give them their day in the sun!

The first animal on our trip through #AvatarAllAboutTheAnimals campaign is Appa. This Sky Bison is Aang’s loyal companion. Aang and Appa share a strong bond and are seen as friends not animal and owner. We see this bond in action after Appa is taken by Sandbenders in the Si Wong Desert. Appa will stop at nothing to seek out Aang, and Aang would do anything to get Appa back. This anger and fear even activates Aang’s Avatar State when he realizes he may never see Appa again.

Appa is a very trusting animal and seems to love most humans, unless they were a danger to Aang. His trusting attitude is put to the test during Appa’s Lost Days, but he appears to remain his happy-go-lucky self once he finds Aang and recovers from his ordeal. He is also intelligent but tends to have a laid back attitude. Unless something annoys him, such as Momo running about wild, he mostly relaxes in a pile of fur and eats at his leisure.

To celebrate Appa as a member of team Avatar and one of the best Animals in the ATLA series, here is a fantastic recipe for all the dog pets in our families, the Appa Apple Dog Treats. To make these you will need:

  • 2 Cups oat flour
  • 1/2 cup plain applesauce
  • 3 tbsp creamy peanutbutter
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Cooling rack

Five Nights at Freddy’s Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza is Looking to Hire!

Now days, jobs can be hard to find and hard to get. Sometimes, you just have to find that one place that has a high turn over rate and last until you find something better. If you are in this unfortunate boat, guess what, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza is looking to hire! They know they have a high turnover rate, but they still look for a few good people to fill the Night Shift Security Guard position. Can you survive Five Nights at Freddy’s?

If you feel you are up to the task, then it is time to take the plunge. Simply text Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza at 1-833-578-0158 (fees may apply) and follow the prompts. Yes and no answers will work best.

So what exactly happens when you text this number? Warning: Spoilers Below

Once I texted a ‘hello’ to the number, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza responded with their job application and a request my name, birthdate, email, and zip code. My guess is this is to make sure I am over the age of 18. Since this is general information, I stupidly entered the details thinking, “I need this job.”

From there, I started the interview. I was told my options were extremely limited, but they were going to give me a shot.

First, I was told that this is for a Security gig and basic care for Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. I was sent a training video to watch, which, to be honest, did not hold high hopes for a quality job. I mean, it was very old-school and had a few bugs.

Second, after I watched the video, I was asked if I had been a security guard before. Since I have had that position in my life, I said yes. I figured why not tell them, it may help me get the job. The interviewer seemed rather excited with my answer but did tell me there is a high turnover rate. Being ok with the turnover rate, I decided to continue the interview.

Third, I was asked if I could stay awake during the night sift while never taking my eyes off the monitors. Seemed simple enough. I like to watch TV, so how difficult could it be to watch a couple of monitors. I responded with ‘Yes’. Again, I received a burst of excitement. I guess, people like me are hard to find, or they really needed to fill the position.

After being told not to mess with anything, I was asked to send a photo just in case they ever had to verify my identity. PICK A GOOD PHOTO. This will be with you for life haha. The photo is actually used to create a security badge Once I agreed to take the job, they sent me a picture of my security badge and welcomed me to the team.

The interview ended with a link on where to buy tickers to watch the new Five Nights at Freddy’s movie. Very fitting end to what is sure to be a great job.

If you want to apply for the security job at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, text 1-833-578-0158

Star Trek: Prodigy: Season 1 Episodes 11-20 – Review and Pizza Ship Recipe!

Star Trek Prodigy is back to finish their season with a 10 episode collection Blu-Ray or DVD! This collection also contains over 45 minutes of brand-new bonus content for fans to dive deeper into the world of Star Trek! Brought to us by Paramount Home Entertainment and CBS Home Entertainment, Star Trek: Prodigy: Season 1 Episodes 11-20 was released Sept. 28, 2023 and can now be purchased from Amazon (affiliate link)

I got the chance to review Star Trek: Prodigy: Season 1 Episodes 11-20 Blu-Ray edition and here is what I thought

Finishing season one of Star Trek Prodigy, we find ourselves, once again, following Dal, Gwyn, Jankom Pogm, Zero. Rok-Tahk, and Murf as make their way towards Starfleet. However, with a dangerous weapon aboard their ship, the U.S.S. Protostar, this task is easier said then done. If the weapon wasn’t a big enough problem, Vice Admiral Janeway is also making her way towards the U.S.S. Protostar in order to find answers regarding her first officer, Chakotay. Get ready for a collision course that no one will be able to avoid.

Like the first half of the season, Star Trek: Prodigy: Season 1 Episodes 11-20 feature many learning moments as the crew works together to save the Federation, help Janeway, and make their way through the universe. The young audience will learn problem solving skills, working together, the importance of communication, trusting others, and so much more. It’s an excellent show to showcase individualism but also teamwork. I love this!

Star Trek: Prodigy: Season 1 Episodes 11-20 Blu-Ray edition does feature a few bonus materials. They are:

  • The Odyssey of Prodigy
    • A review of the second half of the season with the director, producers and cast
  • Producing Prodigy: The Planets
    • Creating the different worlds of Prodigy and how the design, music, writing and show elements come together to create environments essential to the story.
  • Producing Prodigy: The Ships
    • Evolution of ship design in Star Trek and how its rich heritage influences the design of the U.S.S. Protostar and the Borg ship
  • 4 Collectible Character Cards – Limited Time Only!
    • Featuring: Murf, Jankom-Pog, Zero & Drednok along with highlights about the U.S.S. Protostar and The Borg and definitions of Universal Translator and the Neutral Zone.

While we get some amazing info from the Kevin and Dan Hageman and co-producer Aaron Waltke, learn about the planets and their creations, and even ships and their mechanics, I have to admit…I love the cards. I always love something tangible, that I can hold in my hands and add to my growing collection. These are fantastic and contain information about the series, the characters, and the enemies our intrepid young crew discover.

The cards depict  Zero, Jankom Pog, Murf, and Drednok (see below)

We also get information about the Universal Translator, The U.S.S. Protostar, The Neutral Zone, and The Borg. (see image below)

The best part is, there is no pleading to get these, no sending a request with hopes that the mail wont destroy the lovely cards. These four cards come in the Blu-Ray case ready to hold, look at, and display! That alone is the best for us collectors! And with four different cards, there is one for most if not all family members. You just have to ‘discuss’ who gets what card.

Star Trek: Prodigy: Season 1 Episodes 11-20 continues the brilliance of the first half with character growth, cool Star Trek Tech, amazing ships and planets, and even recognizable enemies. It teaches skills for the younger audience but also includes plot lines and Easter eggs that adults and Star Trek Fans will enjoy. With the amazing bonus features, and the wonderful collector cards, I give the Blu-ray five stars!

To celebrate the release of Star Trek: Prodigy: Season 1 Episodes 11-20 on Blu-Ray and DVD we are sharing a fun recipe the whole family can enjoy. Get the ingredients together to make a Star Trek Ship Chicken Pesto Pizza!

With just a few ingredients, this pizza is easy to make and, if you like pesto, delicious to eat.

You will need:

  • 1 (3.8-ounce) can refrigerated pizza crust
  • 1/3 cupe basil pesto
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzerella cheese divided
  • 3/4 cup shredded cooked chicken
  • Grated Parmesian cheese for topping
  • Gresh Basil leaves for harnish

To get the recipe, click the image below and download the PDF to your computer. Once downloaded, print the recipe, gather the ingredients, and start your own voyage to making a delightful pizza.

Hint, if your family is like mine where pesto isn’t exactly the Boldly Go choice, you can sub the pesto with marinara and the chicken with pepperoni.

Five Nights at Freddy’s Mr. Cupcake Recipe

Picture this. It’s dark, you are inside a pizzeria, and you feel as if you are being watched. You slowly spin your body around and see the animatronic band up on stage. Freddy and his friends look normal, but they seem to be peering into your soul. Just then, the lights go off. And now you have to answer the ultimate question…Will you survive Five Nights at Freddy’s?

I know my answer. In the video game, I have hope. I can complete the tasks and do wat needs to be done to survive, In real life…I would die. The minute I was confronted by a walking monstrosity, I would freeze and become non-existent. And knowing my luck, it would be Mr. Cupcake that does me in. Death by pink frosting. hahaha

Inspired by the deadly Mr. Cupcake from Five Nights at Freddy’s, I had this burst of creativity to replicate Mr. Cupcake in IRL…minus the killer instincts. In fact, this cupcake will actually be delicious to devour.

To make Mr. Cupcake, we need:

  • Unfrosted Vanilla Cupcakes
  • Pink frosting
  • Black writing gel
  • Candy eyes
  • Yellow and white spiral candle
  • mini marshmallows

Can we just take a moment to realize that my pink frosting apparently has an attitude. It better not try to kill me. I am already creeped out trying to make a killer cupcake.

On to the recipe.

The unfrosted cupcakes can be store bought or homemade. I used store bought cupcakes because they were on sale. However, I have a cupcake recipe that is easy to follow in another blog post. The recipe makes some yummy vanilla cakes, which is exactly what the recipe needs. My suggestion is to make them small because large candy eyes are not easy to find in grocery stores, but it is fun to ask for them,

Me: “Do you guys sell large eyes? You know, the kind we can eat?”

Associate, ‘…blink’.

Once I clarified ‘Candy’ eyes, I was directed to the baking isle, but all they had were the standard size. Everything was also made by Betty Crocker because my store had no other choices. Betty Crocker Mr. Cupcakes it is then.

Once the cupcakes are cooked and cooled, it’s time to start the decorating. This process takes 5 minutes tops, which means we can crank out dozens of Mr. Cupcakes for our next party.

First pile pink frosting on top of the cupcake. Don’t worry about style, we will be smoothing it out into a mound. Mr. Cupcake doesn’t feature swirls, flowers, and/or beautiful edging, so just scoop and place it on the cupcake. This is perfect because I have no cake decorating skills. Let me prove just how skill-less I am. Here is a picture of my first attempt.

Yeah, he knew he looked bad. Poor thing. I am told however, that he tasted delicious.

After the frosting is piled on to make a large mound, smooth it with the flat end of a butter knife or a spatula. Again, this doesn’t have to look perfect. The more haphazard the better. I simply twisted the cupcake in my hand while I used the flat end of a butter knife.

The eyes are added next. Place them about two-thirds up the mountain of frosting. They should be facing forward, but honestly, have fun with it. Crooked eyes could make Mr. Cupcake even more creepy.

Once the eyes are placed, then it’s time to trace them with some black writing gel. I do not have a steady hand, my handwriting looks like Chica scratch. My dad always told me I should have been a doctor since my handwriting is so illegible. This flaw kinda worked out in my favor. The eyes needed a black boarder to give the illusion of eye sockets. Since Mr. Cupcake isn’t perfectly formed, my imperfect boarder actually looks great.

This is where I had a problem. If you look at the ‘what you need’ image above, what is the one item I am missing? Hint: It-is something Mr. Cupcake needs to look like Mr. Cupcake. Yup, I forgot the marshmallows. I had plans to cut the mini marshmallows in half lengthwise and placing them at the bottom of the frosting for teeth. Woops. On the plus side, the candy eyes are flat and solid white on the back. Crisis averted. I took two candies and turned them around to make teeth. Creativity and problem solving at it’s finest!

Final touch, after the build, is to jab a candle through the top of the frosting and into the cake.

Mr. Cupcake is now done!

Use the recipe below to make your own cupcakes. Don’t forget to download the Five Nights at Freddy’s printables I made as well. There are cupcake wrappers and toppers for larger cupcakes, pizza holder, maze, follow-me-eyes poster craft, banner, and more!

DreamWorks Delivers a Fantastic Horror with Fright Krewe! – Review

The power of fire, invisibility, and strength are just a few powers our super human crew will use in the all new animated series, Fright Krewe, coming to Hulu and Peacock October 2, 2023, by DreamWorks Animation. This will be DreamWorks Animation first animated horror series. Made for a much older audience, this gateway horror brings on a spine chilling thriller that is meant to be a little creepy for the audience. Taking place in New Orleans, Fright Krewe takes our imaginations on a wild and spooky ride. The episodes include:

  • Episode 1 – “The Blood Awakening Part 1”
  • Episode 2 – “The Blood Awakening Part 2”
  • Episode 3 – “The Awakening”
  • Episode 4 – “The Haunting”
  •  Episode 5 – “The Feast”
  •  Episode 6 – “The Swamp”
  •  Episode 7 “The Light”
  •  Episode 8 “The Bait”
  • Episode 9 -“The Trap”
  • Episode 10 -“The War”

I received the chance to review Fright Krewe, and here is what I thought. SPOILER BELOW!

Bringing about the classic high school fighting team, five unlikely friends team up to become the cliché’ ragtag team of evil fighting heroes. We have seen these teams before such as Scooby-Doo, Captain Planet, Goonies, Stranger Things, Voltron, and more. The members consist of the plucky comic relief, the smart one, the athletic one, the leader, and the scaredy-cat. Although less defined in these characters than the 1980’s tropes, they are still a part of the Krewe party.

Personally I love the classic trope and have always enjoyed watching these types of movies/shows. While everything may be turning into a hell-scape around the team, they always seem to relay on friendship and win the day.

In Fright Krewe, our unlikely heroes are Soleil, Maybe, Missy, Stanley, and Pat. These members crash together when a scare goes wrong and blood is accidently given to the spirits in the trees, awakening the demons of the night. To save New Orleans, and possibly the world, five ghosts arise to, once again, fight the coming evil. However, their fight has long since ended, and it is up to the kids to become the fighting force. Thus, each ghosts possesses a child and imbues them with a specific power.

Now with power, the Fright Krewe quickly learns that all is not as it seems. Suddenly, the world of the supernatural is opened up and vampires, ghosts, and demons roam the streets of New Orleans, which is fitting since New Orleans is often a hot spot for the ghouls and the spooks. However, even with superhuman abilities, the crew of five quickly learns that defending their city from evil will be much harder than they thought. For example, Missy quickly falls victim to the evil and they must team up to help her.

The Fright Krewe also learns that there is more to saving the city than just defeating evil, they have to save those who were condemned by it as well. Seeking to right wrongs and fix what has been broken by solving clues, the Fright Krewe works to stop the menace and save their family and their friends and maybe a few spirits along the way.

The classic story of good vs evil is apparent and fantastic to watch while still getting the spooky vibe. And to keep the spooky going, the classic art lends a hand. reminiscent of the Scooby-Doo style, Fright Krewe takes a more classic direction with their art, and let me just say, I LOVE IT! The more digitized shows that DreamWorks produces are great, but I personally adore a more drawn classic look! Great choice by Eli Roth & James Frey, the creators and Executive Producers of Fright Krewe.

With great characters, great story, and great art, Fright Krewe has so many Pros going for it. However, I do have a con. The Con is more of a personal choice than anything related to the actual series, but I feel it is relevant to this review. Fright Krewe is heavy handed in the demonic. There are images of demons, demon characters, transformations, and much more. It may have a comedic dialog here and there, but the show has some very dark undertones. The art helps to pacify these freakish creatures, but they are present and, in my opinion, a bit much. I understand that it is horror that takes place in New Orleans where ghouls roam. I get that sacrifice and blood are a common occurrence with these storylines, but these types of stories are not the horror stories I usually gravitate to. That means, the cartoon did it’s job, and freaked me out a bit. HAHA

Fright Krewe will be available on Hulu and Peacock October 2, 2023. Get ready to spend the spooky season on the edge of our seat!

Five Nights at Freddy’s Party Printables, Crafts, and Activities

Fall is in the air with decorations in orange, yellow, and red, crisp refreshing air, and pumpkins. But something is about to interrupt the natural beauty of the season…something menacing and mechanical. This year, the spooky season takes a freaky game of horror and places it on the big screen as lovable animatronic mascots come to life in deadly ways. This intense game is known as Five Nights at Freddy’s and it will hit theaters October 27, 2023.

The film follows Mike (Josh Hutcherson; Ultraman, The Hunger Games franchise) a troubled young man caring for his 10-year-old sister Abby (Piper Rubio; Holly & Ivy, Unstable), and haunted by the unsolved disappearance of his younger brother more than a decade before.

Recently fired and desperate for work so that he can keep custody of Abby, Mike agrees to take a position as a night security guard at an abandoned theme restaurant: Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. But Mike soon discovers that nothing at Freddy’s is what it seems. With the aid of Vanessa, a local police officer (Elizabeth Lail; You, Mack & Rita), Mike’s nights at Freddy’s will lead him into unexplainable encounters with the supernatural and drag him into the black heart of an unspeakable nightmare.

The film also stars Mary Stuart Masterson (Blindspot, Fried Green Tomatoes), as Mike’s icy Aunt Jane; Kat Conner Sterling (We Have a Ghost, 9-1-1) as Abby’s caring babysitter, Max; and Matthew Lillard (Good Girls, Scream) as Steve Raglan, Mike’s smug career counselor.

Best of all, the games iconic animatronic characters will be created by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop!

Inspired by Five Nights at Freddy’s exciting release to theaters this October, I have created printables featuring some of the classic Five Nights at Freddy’s characters. Freddy, Chica, cupcake, Foxy, and more can be found within the viewing party/birthday party collection!

The printables include:

  • Cupcake Wrappers
    • These wrap around cooled cupcakes to give them that creepy vibe featuring many of the classic characters
  • Cupcake Toppers
    • Select the cupcake toppers with your favorite characters and place them on a toothpick. Insert the toothpick into the cupcake to showcase the animatronic monsters
  • Invitations
    • Use these to invite your friends and family to the best viewing party or birthday party
  • Place cards
    • Place cards are perfect to label foods in a buffet, such as “Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza”. If you need recipes to host the perfect party, a Five Nights at Freddy’s recipe book will be released Oct 24! Find it here (affiliate link)
  • Birthday Banner
    • This printable features Happy Birthday on a flag banner. Use string and glue to form the banner.
  • Pizza Holder
    • Obviously a Five Nights at Freddy’s party will have pizza. Here is a container to hold such foods. It can also hold popcorn, hotdogs, and others snacks.
  • Maze activity
    • Can you get out of the pizzeria safely? Try the maze and find out. This unique maze starts in the center and you must find your way out to survive
  • Fortune Teller Craft
    • This craft is fun and it is inspired by the classic fortune teller paper crafts. Simply cutout, fold, and pick a character. Be warned, only one number of the 8 options sees you escape and survive
  • Follow Me Eyes Poster Craft

The Follow Me Eyes craft is a unique craft dealing with the placement of eyes so that as a person moves around the room, it will look like Freddy’s eyes follow them. It is a fun and fairly simple DIY craft that takes the printable, a pair of scissors, and glue.

  1. Simply print the printable
  2. Cutout the image and the long white stick with the eyes. On the Freddy image, be sure to cutout the whites of the eyes.
  3. Fold the Eye stick along the lines in a zig zag formation. The line closes to the eyes fold towards the eyes. The second line needs to be folded away from the eyes This zig zag will make the eyes protrude back a small distance but still be seeable from the front.
  4. Place glue on the glue tabs.
  5. Looking from the front center the eyes on Freddy and glue the tabs to the back of the image.
  6. Let the glue dry
  7. Display where you want Freddy to watch your guests

The place cards, Follow Me Eyes, and the pizza holder are best if printed on card paper. They need a thicker paper to hold up and to be used as desired.
