Unleash the lighter side of the force with four complete episodes of Legos Star Wars: The New Yoda Chronicles. Your favorite heroes are back in Lego form as Luke goes on a quest to find the holocrons so that he can learn to be a Jedi. With Yoda and Obi-Wan watching from the sidelines and Darth Vader constantly talking to himself on his never ending quest to destroy the rebels, the race for the holocrons is an exciting adventure with action-packed thrills and interlocking, intergalactic comic adventures. The best part about this collection is it is fun for the whole family! Featuring Emperor Palpatine. Master Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, and more! Also coming out of retirement is the superclone Jek-14!

Episode 1: Escape from the Jedi Temple takes us back in time to when the Jedi temple is lost to the emperor and his craziness. The younglings, Bail Organa (an unknown coward), C-3PO (an unknown droid) and superclone Jek-14 must retrieve the holocrons from the Jedi temple and hide them where no one can find them. Their mission takes them into very dangerous territory that is now controlled by the dark side. With the not-so-helpful Yoda and Obi-wan watching their every move while they hover in space, the heroes retrieve the holocrons and flee Coruscant.
Episode 2: Race for the Holocrons continues the story as Ben tells Luke to find the holocrons so that he can learn to be a Jedi. The information contained in them will help him realize his destiny and become a Jedi like his father. Unfortunately, Vader is also after the Holocrons by order of the emperor. His exact words to Vader are, “I’ve got a fever and the only prescription are those holocrons!” I don’t think the emperor is as subtle in Lego form. His squareness must lead to more eccentric behavior, which adds to the hilariousness that I have come to expect in Lego movies.
Episode 3: Raid on Coruscant is more of a clean up episode, as in, “the heroes have to clean up the mess they made when they let Vader retrieve the holocrons.” Now with all that power in the emperors hands, they empire begins to raid planets that are sympathetic to the rebellion. With time short and planets in trouble, Yoda and Ben call upon the one person that can help Luke win the battle…No not Qui-gon…they call on Jek-14. Oh, but ummm, Qui-Gon is still important, i mean he is great at opening pickle jars…right?
Episode 4: Clash of the Skywalkers brings the story to a close as we get to see Luke and Vader fight to the death in an epic one-on-one battle. The Lego lightsabers clash on an unknown asteroid surface as the force flies between the two Skywalkers. It is a battle for the ages, of good vs. evil, dark vs. light, red vs. Blue and a Slug. Only one will be victorious, only one will survive, may the odds be ever in their favor…wait, wrong film. Besides, this is a Lego movie, death is only momentary, they can be rebuilt. They have the technology. They can make them better than they were. Better, stronger, faster. Or at the very least, they will be square again.
Along with all four episodes, this DVD collection also comes with an alternate ending, which is perfect for us Dark Side sympathizers. I will give you a sneak peek: We get to see Darth Vader do a conga line. The Alternate Ending is a nice surprise and fits well with the whole comedy theme. They only thing I wish they would do is place the alternate ending in with the entire episode. It is annoying to have to stop the episode in just the right spot and then click Alternate Ending to continue the story with the ending I want. It would be simpler for a person to choose between a Jedi or Sith episode and see the whole thing in one go.
I, however, absolutely enjoyed this collection and found myself laughing through every episode. The fun Lego theme and hilarious off the wall dialog makes for an entertaining story. Let’s face it, when Darth Vader “dents his head thing” I nearly fell off the couch with laughter. This is everything I would expect from a Lego inspired Collection. Comical, off the wall and not at all canon, Star Wars The New Yoda Chronicles is a “Bricktastic” fun adventure everyone will love!
