The ‘A Goofy Movie’ Band Gets Back Together to Commemorate the Iconic Film’s 30th Anniversary

90s kids can sing out with excitement as Disney starts celebrating the 30th anniversary of one of the most iconic films of all time, A Goofy Movie! When Max makes a ruckus in school to ask out his dream girl, his week goes from fun in school to a fishing trip with most embarrassing dad in the world, Goofy. In Goofy’s eyes, this is a great trip to get to know his son, and help Max see how important it is to be with family. To Max, this is the worst trip ever. He had plans to escort his dream date to the PowerLine concert, but he is now stuck with the most clumsy, unattached-to-reality person in his life. Of course, embarrassed by the whole ordeal, he tells his girl and his friends that he will be on TV at the PowerLine concert. The lies stack up and Max is faced with some crazy choices, ditch his dad and run away to the concert, or float down a river in a car filled with water.

While the story is a pretty standard father-son bonding scenario, A Goofy Movie has something far more powerful and fun going for it. It has the most epic non-excitant concert that everyone in the Millennial generation would literally attend if it ever became real, a PowerLine concert. The music, the vibe, and the person do not actually exist in our world, but thanks to the A Goofy Movie, there is an entire generation of people that would give almost anything for PowerLine to be a real thing! I am in the same floating car. I would love to see I2I (Eye to Eye) live in concert sung by the one and only PowerLine!

And how is Disney starting their celebration of the 30th Anniversary of A Goofy Movie? By getting the band back together of course! In their brand new video, Bill Farmer (Goofy) and Jason Marsden (Max Goof) hit the road again in a reimagined AMC Pacer based on the car featured in the film and interview each other about cherished memories from the film’s creation. Three decades after bringing the father-son duo to the big screen, Farmer and Marsden take viewers on a heartwarming journey that perfectly captures the nostalgia and enduring appeal of a film that has touched an entire generation of fans around the world and solidified its place within Disney’s unparalleled storytelling legacy.
