On July 31st, Turbo and his crew take Turbo Town by storm in the all-new season of DreamWork’s Animation’s Turbo FAST, premiering exclusively on Netflix July 31st. The world’s coolest snails take a turn off the track and set off on a wild ride filled with hilarious hijinks at every turn. You’ll laugh out loud when they launch into outer space, battle an apocalyptic robot, clash with a ninja stinkbug and escape a booby-trapped treasure hunt!
I actually got the opportunity to see two episodes from the upcoming season, and let me tell you…AWESOME SAUCE!! Not only is it the art that we have come to love, but all the lovable characters are back in the craziest scenarios yet. You thought expired tomato cans and fast bugs were the enemies, try two robbers with no talent or a superhero that is neither super nor heroic. Not to mention the absolutely ridiculous problem solving ideas. It is well worth seeing for kids and adults.
While there is so much for kids to love with the coolest snails and racing, the adults will love the pop culture references. For example, in “Home on Our Own”, Skidmark and White Shadow once again find a way to get out of a coaching retreat, to the dismay of Smoove Move. Instead, it is all about binge watching Gossip Girl on Snailflix before spoilers ruin the show. (I have to give props to Netflix, I laughed so hard.)
Unfortunately for Skid and Shadow, two incompetent robbers decided to try and rob them. They spend the rest of the night attempting to watch their favorite show and stop the would-be robbers using crazy antics suggested by Gossip Girl. They even go as far as copying a funny trick from the movie “Home Alone”…You’ll know it when you see it.
Pop culture reference don’t stop there. In “Sting of Injustice”, a new bug comes to town, the Adam West of bugs. With his superhero lines and tough exterior, The Stinger is the Batman of Turbo Town, ready to “Cross the finish line ahead of the wheels of injustice.”
…Or so they thought. Turns out, The Stinger is nothing like Batman, other than the cool dark costume and lavishly long lines. The cheek of injustice may just have to await the firm slap of law and order, as the snails of Turbo Town realize The Stinger is more into causing trouble and making funny poses. But how do the Snails get rid of an unwanted superhero? They create a super villain of course. Behold! Stalk Eye!
With a few well placed POWS!! of justice, Turbo Town may just get rid of their new Menace.
…or maybe gain a new one…Dun Dun Dun!
