Get ready to make the CUTEST Micky Mouse cookies you will ever see! Instead of the standard Mickey Mouse ears that may be considered “Over done,” Disney Family has created an ingenious Valentine’s Day cookie in the shape of a heart but in complete Mickey Mouse attire! With 5 simple steps, these cookies are easy and fast to make!
What you will need to make this Disney Magic Happen:

Batch of sugar cookie dough (homemade or store-bought) *
Red food coloring
Disposable food preparation gloves (for kneading food coloring into the dough)
Plastic wrap
Rolling pin
Flour
Wax paper
Heart cookie cutter (about 2.5 inches wide)
Baking sheets
Cooling rack
Dark cocoa candy melts
Small microwavable mixing bowl
White licorice candies – two for each cookie
Toothpick
Instructions:

First: Knead the red food coloring into the sugar cookie dough. Use the gloves so your hands don’t turn red as you Knead it in. Once it becomes the desired color of red, flatten the dough into a disk and wrap it tightly in plastic. Chill the dough until firm.
Second: Heat the oven according to the instruction for cooking your sugar cookies. Working on a flour-dusted sheet of wax paper, roll out the chilled dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Using a heart shaped cookie cutter cut out as many cookies as you can. Bake the cookies according to the recipe directions. Once they are done let them cool completely.
Third: Melt a cup of the candy melts according to the package directions.
Fourth: Dip the completely cooled red heart sugar cookies into the melted chocolate. Be sure to only cover the top of the heart. Place the dipped cookies on a wax paper-lined tray.
Fifth: For the finishing touch, use dabs of the leftover melted candy (applied with the tip of a toothpick) to attach a pair of white licorice candy “buttons” to the lower portion of each heart.
It now looks like Mickey Mouse’s Attire! Basically a delirious pair of shorts! hahahaha
