I got the chance to review Star Trek: Prodigy: Season 1 Episodes 11-20 Blu-Ray edition and here is what I thought

Finishing season one of Star Trek Prodigy, we find ourselves, once again, following Dal, Gwyn, Jankom Pogm, Zero. Rok-Tahk, and Murf as make their way towards Starfleet. However, with a dangerous weapon aboard their ship, the U.S.S. Protostar, this task is easier said then done. If the weapon wasn’t a big enough problem, Vice Admiral Janeway is also making her way towards the U.S.S. Protostar in order to find answers regarding her first officer, Chakotay. Get ready for a collision course that no one will be able to avoid.

Like the first half of the season, Star Trek: Prodigy: Season 1 Episodes 11-20 feature many learning moments as the crew works together to save the Federation, help Janeway, and make their way through the universe. The young audience will learn problem solving skills, working together, the importance of communication, trusting others, and so much more. It’s an excellent show to showcase individualism but also teamwork. I love this!

Star Trek: Prodigy: Season 1 Episodes 11-20 Blu-Ray edition does feature a few bonus materials. They are:

  • The Odyssey of Prodigy
    • A review of the second half of the season with the director, producers and cast
  • Producing Prodigy: The Planets
    • Creating the different worlds of Prodigy and how the design, music, writing and show elements come together to create environments essential to the story.
  • Producing Prodigy: The Ships
    • Evolution of ship design in Star Trek and how its rich heritage influences the design of the U.S.S. Protostar and the Borg ship
  • 4 Collectible Character Cards – Limited Time Only!
    • Featuring: Murf, Jankom-Pog, Zero & Drednok along with highlights about the U.S.S. Protostar and The Borg and definitions of Universal Translator and the Neutral Zone.

While we get some amazing info from the Kevin and Dan Hageman and co-producer Aaron Waltke, learn about the planets and their creations, and even ships and their mechanics, I have to admit…I love the cards. I always love something tangible, that I can hold in my hands and add to my growing collection. These are fantastic and contain information about the series, the characters, and the enemies our intrepid young crew discover.

The cards depict  Zero, Jankom Pog, Murf, and Drednok (see below)

We also get information about the Universal Translator, The U.S.S. Protostar, The Neutral Zone, and The Borg. (see image below)

The best part is, there is no pleading to get these, no sending a request with hopes that the mail wont destroy the lovely cards. These four cards come in the Blu-Ray case ready to hold, look at, and display! That alone is the best for us collectors! And with four different cards, there is one for most if not all family members. You just have to ‘discuss’ who gets what card.

Star Trek: Prodigy: Season 1 Episodes 11-20 continues the brilliance of the first half with character growth, cool Star Trek Tech, amazing ships and planets, and even recognizable enemies. It teaches skills for the younger audience but also includes plot lines and Easter eggs that adults and Star Trek Fans will enjoy. With the amazing bonus features, and the wonderful collector cards, I give the Blu-ray five stars!
