Rescue Bots: Heroes on the Scene comes to DVD March 18, 2014 with 5 exciting episodes. The DVD features four Transformer Bots (CHASE, HEATWAVE, BLADES, and BOULDER) living on an island called Griffin Rock. They are on earth to learn from the Burns Family while helping the family rescue the citizens when things go awry. The theme song sums up their mission and their reason for helping those in need. Optimus Prime gave them an order to earn the respect of the people, learn their ways and serve and protect. With that in mind, the Rescue Bots become super heroes to those around them.

The episodes on this DVD use an action packed and entertaining show to teach kids common sense and morals
~The Lost Bell teaches kids to learn from the past to help you in the present and future. Sometimes technology of today is useless in cases when you are stranded and need to build shelter or find water.
~In You’ve Been Squilshed, the family is sent to rescue the city from a flubber like substance, referred to as a giant booger or Overgrown Loogie. Kids will learn scientific terms and the concept if at first you don’t succeed Try again.
~Little White Lies teaches that no matter how small or insignificant a lie may appear, they are never a good idea and may lead to trouble.
~Shake Up shows viewers that it is OK to have a secret, everyone has one.
~Rescue Boy informs viewers that no amount of power or technology should take away from common sense. I think more people should watch this episode. 😀
I found these episodes to be wonderful for all ages. Not only does each episode hold a moral, a lesson for the viewer to understand, but it also has comedy that is directed to kids of all ages. I often found myself laughing in several places, especially when Chase, the cop car Transformer Rescue Bot, tried to understand Humor and invent his own jokes. I don’t think he really ever grabs onto the concept. He is more like Data from Star Trek The Next Generation, logical and often emotionless.
In fact, for those who are geeks, such as myself, there are many hidden references to other fandoms. There is even a reference to “A Christmas Story” in Rescue Boy when Cody exclaims “I can’t put my arms down.” I found myself laughing so hard that I had all heads turned at me. Sometimes my geekiness gets me in trouble, however, I found it entertaining that such geeky references would be included in a children’s TV show. I wonder if we have LeVar Burton to thank for that?
To make watching the episode even more fun, I challenge each viewer to find all the geeky references. Post them in the comments below when you think you have found one.
Below are the DVD details and a list of Free Transformer Rescue Bots Printables. The printables are free to download, print and create. They will make wonderful party gifts or great activities for an entertaining movie night.
