After watching the dvd, I found the different ways Elena’s culture celebrates the holidays interesting. For example, in “A Day to Remember,” Dia de los Muertos is celebrated in the cemetery where her family is buried. Everyone comes together to share food and remember the loved ones they have lost. In America, cemeteries are usually haunted scary places only the brave enter on Halloween. Often they have zombies, Ghosts and ghouls.
Another example is the “Navidad” episode, which is all about different traditions and the characters coming together for one large celebration.
Along woth the wonderful traditions for the kids to learn about and enjoy, there is also a song for each episode. The songs are toe-tappingly fun that, if heard enough, become sing-a-longs…and trust me they will be heard again and again hahaha. Check out one of the songs from “Navidad” below.
Elena of Avalor: The Way We Do Navidad
I am sure all Elena of Avalor fans are going to love Elena of Avalor: Celebrations to Remember. Those who are not fans, may just become one. I give this five stars!
