Cubeecraft Santa Hat

Christmas is coming and my cubeecrafts just didn’t look like they were in the spirit. That needed to change. So I created a Cubeecraft Santa hat.

This Hat will fit most of my cubeecrafts.
I say most cubeecrafts because some of them have crazy hair that will get in the way. For example Princess Tutu has difficulties with the Santa Hat.

Here you can see Walter strutting the Santa Hat, although he is far less than Jolly.

Cubeecraft of Princess Tutu

When a duck becomes human to help find heart shard,you have an interesting story for a ballet…unless you have Anatidaephobia, which is the fear that somewhere, somehow, a duck is watching you. In that case, this show becomes a horror.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I actually enjoyed the show and thought I would create some cubeecrafts featuring the main characters.

To Build the Cubeecraft:
Materials needed:
Printer
Card stock
scissors
craft knife

Assembly instructions:

  1. Cut out each item along the outer solid black lines.
  2. Once each item has been cut, use an xacto knife to slice the white lines and red lines on each item.
  3. The black tabs have a white line that must be opened so that the corresponding tabs can slide in and lock in place.
  4. There are red lines on each side of the chest piece where the arms will slide in.
  5. There are also red lines where the body will slide into the head and the legs will slide into the body.

There is a white outline along the hair that needs to be cut. Be careful. If you cut more than just the white line the cubeecraft will not fold properly. When these white outlines are cut the hair will stick out once you fold the sides into a cube (see image for help).

The body portion extends further out to give the shape of a tutu. These tabs are smaller and more difficult to deal with but lock into place just as the cubee head does. Be very careful cutting open the holes for the tabs to slide into.

This cubeecraft takes a little more time to complete but is well worth the effort.

Cubeecraft of Fakir from the Anime Series Princess TuTu

Recently, in a moment of absolute boredom, I decided to watch an Anime Series known as Princess TuTu on Netflix. It was such a wonderful (sort of creepy) story. The music, art and story line fit perfectly together. Needless to say, I fell in love and decided some of the characters needed to be cubeecrafts that I could display. Fakir is the first one I completed.

Cubeecraft of Callie Briggs from the Swat Kats The Radical Squadron

Callie Briggs is the most needy character in the Swat Kats if you don’t count Feral and his constant need for chopper backup. T-Bone is also very attracted to her, and will leave his favorite TV show just to help her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Her ears had to be 3D (like those of T-Bone and Razor) just to make them look right on the cubeecraft.

To attach the ears to the cubee:
To the left and right of Callie’s face there are three red lines that must be cut to create a hole that the ear tabs can slide through. The bottom tab will curve up into the ear to give it a more 3D look. Be very careful when cutting out the ears, they are very delicate. Once the ear is cut out fold along the black line. Slide the tabs into the holes and it will form an ear.

There are two red lines to the left and right of her face along the border that also have to be cut so that her hair will fit on her head.

To attach the tail, there is a white line on the back of the cubee that has to be cut for the tabs of the tail to slide into. Both tabs must slide into the hole created. When you cut out the tail be very careful. It must stay connected at the tip where you would fold it in half.

Say Hello to the Newest Disney Princess, Princess Leia

I would like to take a moment to welcome the newest Disney Princess, Princess Leia!

The Walt Disney Co. announced today (Oct 30, 2012) that they have bought LucasFilm for $4.05 Billion. With this purchase, Disney has already announced they will be making 3 more Star Wars Films, the first to be released in 2015.

You can watch part of the interview here:

I have to admit that I am excited and worried to see where Disney will be taking Star Wars. I realy hope there will not be more like Jar Jar.
All I can do is wait and watch to see what exciting features Disney will bring. 😀

Cubeecraft of Razor From the TV Series Swat Kats The Radical Squadron

The Brains of the pair is finally here! Where would T-Bone be without Razor? Razor, a mechanic, an inventor and best friend to T-Bone. His awesome missiles often hit their target and usually are created just in time to take down the new threat.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Like the T-bone Cubeecraft, Razor is a little more difficult than most. His ears had to be 3D as well just to make them look right on the cubeecraft.

To build the cubee:

  1. To the left and right of Razors face there is a black Oval. In that Oval there are three white lines that must be cut to create a hole that the ear tabs can slide through. The bottom tab will curve up into the ear to give it a more 3D look. Be very careful when cutting out the ears, they are very delicate. Once the ear is cut out fold along the black line. Slide the tabs into the holes and it will form an ear.
  2. The face of Razor also pops out to give him that cat feel. Before you fold the cubeecraft’s head cut along the while lines around the cheeks. When you fold the head do not fold the cheeks so that they stick out. See picture below for a visual.
  3. To attach the tail, there is a white line on the back of the cubee that has to be cut for the tabs of the tail to slide into. Both tabs must slide into the hole created. When you cut out the tail be very careful. It must stay connected at the tip where you would fold it in half.

Cubeecraft of T-Bone From the TV Series Swat Kats The Radical Squadron

One of my favorite cartoon characters would have to be T-Bone from the cartoon series Swat Kats. I mean who doesn’t like a funny, loyal pilot who tries to save the city even after being screwed by Feral?

I found this cubeecraft a little more difficult than most. I had to watch the entire series just to make sure I get the flight suit and accessories right (and you know I totally loved it 😀 )

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Believe it or not the ears on this character were the hardest. I would draw the ears on this cubee and find that they just didn’t look right. I quickly realized these ears were gonna have to pop out from the side of T-Bone’s head. With no template for these, I had to get creative and form one by getting a close up of how the ears appear on T-bone. After several attempts I think I found an awesome set of cat ears.

A Simple Yet Adorable Halloween Wreath

I really wanted a Halloween Wreath this year and I had searched everywhere to find one that would match my decor. unfortunately I had no such luck. While skulls and spiders may top off some parties, I needed something Purple and cute. It became obvious that I was gonna have to make one.

And you, my lucky readers will get to learn how to create such a wonderful festive Halloween Wreath that is not so creepy but hints towards cute. 😀

This Wreath is actually easy to make and requires very little time.

What you will need:
3 – 9 feet Festive Garland. I went to the dollar store and found shiny garland in 3 different designs: Orange with pumpkins, White with spiders, and Black with Purple Ghosts (my choice of course).

1 – 6 Foot Floral Wire. This can also be found at the dollar store in their floral section.

Duct Tape – I had this already, because lets face it I use Duct Tape on practically everything

Directions:
1. Unwind the floral Wire.
2. Fold the wire in half
3. Fold the wire in half again lightly.
4. Place end to end and Duct Tape them together
5. Work the Wire into a circle. (It should be a double layer circle.
6. Attach one end of the 9ft garland to the Floral ring with Duct Tape
7. Tightly wrap the garland around the wire. make sure that each time you wrap the garland around the wire it is tight so that no gold wire shows through.
8. When the Garland is finished, Duct Tape it to the wire.
9. Repeat steps 6-8 for the second strand of Garland
10. For the final strand repeat steps 6-7.
11. Leave 10 inches of the Garland to form a loop so that you have a way to hang it.
12. Tie the end of the final piece of Garland to the ring to form the loop.

You now have a wreath to hang. 😀

Share your creations on my Facebook Page! I Would love to see them!
