PAW Patrol The Mighty Movie Review and Blu-Ray Giveaway! – Ends 12-25-2023

Thanks to Nickelodeon sending me a copy of the Blu-ray, I received the chance to review PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie and here is what I thought.

In 2018, the PAW Patrol fanbase had a TV movie with the Mighty Pups. It was a fantastic adventure that featured a crashing meteorite, superpowers, and a Humdinger menace. Sound familiar? That’s because, the new movie PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie is almost an identical story, or, more than likely, PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie was inspired by PAW Patrol: Mighty Pups. However, instead of comparing the two and showcasing some of the weird Alternate Universe differences, I will focus on the new movie.

PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie capitalizes on the Superhero fanbase by turning our everyday hero pups into the mighty superheroes with different powers thanks to a crashing meteorite and some galactic space crystals. When Victoria Vance brings down the skies, a meteorite crashes in Adventure City. This meteorite turns out to contain crystals that give our amazing pups superpowers. Skye is the first to get her powers as she investigates the meteor while everyone is sleeping. All of a sudden she can fly and have super strength. Of course, this plays well to her character since she is the pilot on the team.

In fact, much of PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie focuses on Skye, which I love since she is my favorite pup! And with the focus on her, we also learn a little about her past; how she was born the runt, how no one wanted her, and how she became a PAW Patrol member. Honestly, it is a sad story. I found it a bit surprising since PAW Patrol is often a more upbeat show with more of an “anything is possible” vibe. However, her team is very supportive and even looks to her to help save Adventure city. A common learning trope throughout PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie is definitely No job is too big, no pup is too small, which just so happens to be the PAW Patrol catchphrase.

With the pups getting superpowers, there are of course, supervillains. In the movie we are introduced to the mad scientist, Victoria Vance, who teams up with Humdinger so that they can rob the pups of their powers and take over the city. The duo is a force to be reckoned with as they take danger to a whole new level. Because of the duo’s works of evil, the city and maybe even the world face a meteorite catastrophe.

Thankfully, during times of possible catastrophes, the PAW Patrol pups do what they do best, they save the city by working together, solving problems through ingenuity, and staying positive. That is what I love about PAW Patrol, no matter what, there is always a way to solve the problem and save their friends. It is encouraging, supportive, and wholesome. PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie continues this theme. Even when team members are facing personal growth problems, such as Skye and her past,, they are there to help.

PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie is a fantastic movie that features our favorite pups in a great story and amazing fun. There is action, growth, and all of the morals we have come to love in PAW Patrol TV series. I give this movie 5 stars
