Only, running away doesn’t have the intended affect and actually starts making Riley emotionless instead of happy. If Joy and Sadness can’t find their way back to headquarters, it could mean the end of Riley’s emotional stability and the end of her feelings.

This movie is probably one of the more symbolic movies Disney-Pixar has created. Not only is this an animated feature great for kids, but adults will also love this movie with all the metaphors and comedy. It is a must watch for the whole family.

Jay’s Seasoned Fries Recipe from Descendants

jay is a thief with the idea that “there is no team in I.” His father, Jafar, has been sure to pound that into his head since birth. However, even with the brain-washing Jafar distributes, Jay still finds his life a little disturbing and wanting of something more.

When he is forced to leave the Isle of the lost and attend school in Auradon, Jay, at first, steals what he can and has a little too much energy to spare. Seeing this, the Fairy Godmother has Jay and Carlos join the sports team. The ‘teamwork’ concept is a little foreign, but with the help of a coach, Jay soon learns that there is more to life than me-me-me or I-I-I.

With Jay now on the sports team, he needs a snack every now and then. Jay’s preferred snack are Seasoned fries. You don’t need a magic lamp to make these fries – a little salt, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese transforms plain ol’ potatoes to tasty seasoned fries! Jay's Seasoned Fries

Servings: 2
Time: 30 min

Reminder
Only a grown-up should use the oven and do anything that involves cutting food with a knife or blade.

Ingredients

2 large russet potatoes, peeled and sliced into 3-inch long dices and 1/4 inch wide strips
1/2 cup canola oil (I use coconut oil)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
3 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
place the potato slices and oil all in a bowl and toss until each potato slice is lightly coated with oil
In a small bowl, combine the salt, garlic powder, and Parmesan Cheese and mix well. Sprinkle the mixture over the potatoes
Place seasoned potato slices on the baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes, turning occasionally, until tender and golden brown
Remove from oven and let cool 5-10 minutes, Serve them plain or with your favorite dipping sauce

Evie’s Apple Dippers Recipe from Descendants

The Evil Queen may be stuck on the Isle of the lost, but Evie is given a chance to see the world. Directed by her mother to both help Mal steal the Fairy Godmother’s wand and find herself a prince, Evie heads out for new adventures and hopefully love. However, things don’t work out as planned and Evie is forced to make a few tough choices and grow as a person.

Of course, her tough choices take a lot of energy and she can get a little hungry. Ironically, Evie loves to snack on apples, which go great with this fruit dip. This recipe is yummy to the core!

Combine the strawberry jam, applesauce and cinnamon in a microwave-safe bowl and mix well
heat the mixture in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes, until hot
Dip apple slices in the strawberry mixture and enjoy!

Mal’s Love Spell Cookies Recipe from Descendants

To please her mother, Maleficent, Mal had to be rotten to the core. However, no matter how rotten she is, it is never enough. But when Maleficent gives her daughter a task to steal the Fairy Godmothers wand so that she could be all powerful, Mal takes this as an opportunity to earn her mother’s love. Turns out that the task isn’t that simple.

In order to steal the wand, Mal hato become Prince Ben’s girlfriend so that she can stand near the wand during his coronation ceremony. But to be Ben’s ‘girlfriend’ Mal had to concoct a Love Spell to make Ben fall for her. In the Kitchen with Carlos, Jay and Evie, Mal creates the Love Spell Cookies complete with 1 tear of sadness.

Don’t worry, these love spell cookies are tearless! However, even without the tear, anyone is sure to love you when you give them these delicious cookies – no spell needed!

These are pretty easy to make, but will require adult supervision for the oven and chopping. The cookies do contain walnuts (optional) so be sure anyone that enjoys them doesn’t have a nut allergy.

Mal's Love Spell Cookies

Servings: 3 dz
Time: 30 min
Difficulty: easy

Ingredients

2 sticks of unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 large eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp Baking soda
1 tsp kosher salt
2 cups of walnuts, coarsely chopped (optional)
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
Using an electric mixer, cream the butter and the sugars until light and fluffy
Add the vanilla extract and the eggs one at a time and mix well
In a Bowl, sift the flour, baking soda and salt together
Put the electric mixer on the slowest speed and add the flour mixture to the butter, mixing until just combined
Gently fold in walnuts and chocolate chips
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and use a rounded tablespoon to drop the dough on the baking sheet, leaving about two inches between each one. Gently Press Down on each piece of dough to flatten it slightly
Bake the cookies for 15 minutes until set and golden brown. Remove from the oven and leave the cookies on the baking sheet for about 5 min before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely

Free Halloween Coloring Page Featuring Neurotox from Slugterra

This Halloween I am creating 5 different coloring pages featuring Ghouled Slugs from slugterra. Today’s Slug is 4 of 5 featuring the Neurotox!

The Neurotox is the ghouled version of a Neotox. It has only three attacks. but they are dangerous and deadly. Spewing acid, chemical rusting and a toxic poisonous cloud are part of Neurotox deadly attacks. The Toxic cloud is so dangerous it constantly expands and is nearly impossible to stop. Without a Vinedrill that knows Vinevent and a Boon Doc that knows Healswarm the toxic poisonous cloud is endless. In the wrong hands, which being a ghoul it usually is, the slug can cause a lot of damage.

At 100 miles per hour, the Neurotox is a dark green and dark purple alligator like creature with a large jaw, huge green teeth and claws.

Disney Junior Halloween Printables and Activities

With so much scariness going on this time of year it is refreshing to see cute Halloween items for the younger kids. Disney Junior does not disappoint when it comes to the cuteness factor. With Sofia The First, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Mickey Mouse and Henry Hugglemonster, there are plenty of cute fun crafts, activities and printable to have fun with. Kids can make their own trick or Treat Box, color several Halloween Themed coloring pages, make their own costume pieces, create decorations and more! I especially love the trick or treat box. It is adorable and features many of the best Disney Junior Cartoon characters, such as: Sofia the First, Mickey, Minnie Doc. McStuffins, Henry and Jake.

Hotel Transylvania 2 Free Cubeecraft of Frank

FIRE! Fire Bad! leave it to Frankenstein’s Monster to be so blunt and forthcoming about the dangers of fire. We can all learn a lesson about how hazardous a big ball of fire running through a cabin can be. Let’s just say it is down right disastrous, right up there with tossing a grandchild over a rickety tower hoping that he would sprout wings and fly. Oh wait…that happened.

When Frank isn’t running from fire or helping to throw a baby off a tower (do not try that at home people…very unsafe), he is actually a pretty cool guy and more down to earth than most of Dracula’s friends. He is kind, lovable and like an uncle to Mavis. Frank looks at things more realistically than the other members of the Drac Pack but he will still play a prank when the opportunity arises. Murray the mummy learns this the hard way in Hotel Transylvania when Frank makes it look like Murray ‘cut the cheese.”

My Frank paper craft features Frank in his ‘working man’s suit,’ black shoes, red tie and striped shirt. Like Frank in Hotel Transylvania 1 & 2, he has grayish blue skin stitched together. Although, no amount of stitching will help keep Frank together. He seems to fall apart rather easily.

To Build the Cubeecraft:
Materials needed:
Printer
Card stock
scissors
x-acto knife

To make:

Cut out each item along the outer black lines
Cut along the white on each tab using the x-acto knife
Cut along each red line using the x-acto knife
Fold along each inner solid black line and slide each tab into the slots you created with an x-acto knife to form a cube of the head, body, arms, and feet
Slide the arms through the red slots on either side of the body.
Slide the feet through the red slots at the base of the body.
Slide the head through the red lots of the now completed body.

DIY Star Wars Halloween Tote Bags

After such an epic day yesterday with Star Wars The Force Awakens tickets being sold and the new (EPIC) trailer, it has made me want to have Star Wars incorporated into my Halloween even more. Who am I kidding, seriously I dress as a Star Wars character every year. Unfortunately, my Halloween trick-or-treat bags have never displayed my love for Star Wars. Trust me when I say, it’s painful to have a gap in the theme. However, thanks to Disney and their awesome DIY site called family.disney.com, my family will no longer be without the proper carriers for this galactic season!

On family.disney.com, there are 4 tutorials about how to create a special Star Wars Halloween Tote Bag featuring BB-8, Kylo Ren, First Order Symbol, and a Stormtrooper. Get those scissors and felt ready because these tote bags are nothing short of awesome! To check each of these designs out and download the free templates to create your own, click on the images below and hyperspace over to the tutorial.

I have also added links to the corresponding costumes, if you haven’t already grabbed them. They make the perfect set when trick-or-treating. Of course, it is fun to mix and match. I see no reason why Kylo Ren couldn’t carry a BB-8 Tote.
