Fruits Basket Tohru Honda Cubeecraft

Tohru Honda from the animated series Fruits Basket has become a cubeecraft. I watched this series on Netflix and fell in love with the characters. I decided then that I would make a few of them into cubeecraft form. Tohru Honda is the first on that list.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She is a little difficult to create. Her hair around the head must be cut so that it will frame the face when the cubeecraft gets folded. The side hair goes through the connecting tabs. This must be carefully cut through the tab and then the tab must be cut along the white line in order to have te connecting tab fir through. It is difficult but possible 😀
Materials needed:
Printer
Card stock
scissors
x-acto knife
To make:
  1. Cut out each item along the outer black lines.
  2. Cut along the white on each tab using the x-acto knife
  3. Cut along each red line using the x-acto knife
  4. Fold along each inner solid black line and slide each tab into the slots created with an x-acto knife to form a cube of the head, arms, and feet, and body
  5. Slide the arms through the red slots on either side of the body.
  6. Slide the feet through the red slots at the base of the body.
  7. Slide the now completed body through the red lots of the head.
She is now complete. To download this cubeecraft click the image below and save it to your computer. Then simply print and create.
Prince Derek may not be the smartest guy in history, but he has his moments of brilliance. For example, when he figured out what else he loved about Odette. Although it did take him a while.
Disney Princess Has a New Website
I received an email today with the announcement “We cordially invite you to the new home of Disney Princess.”
I have to admit this is the first time I have been “cordially” invited to a website, so, of course, I clicked the link and entered the Disney Princess new Home.
It turns out, not only does Disney Princess have a new home, but they have a whole new look as well!
It is very easy to navigate; simply select a princess and begin your magical journey. At this point, however, I do not see the options for Merida from Brave or for Princess Leia from Star Wars (since Disney now owns Star Wars LOL)
The available Princesses as of 2/4/2013 are:
~Rapunzel
~Ariel
~Cinderella
~Tiana
~Belle
~Pocahontas
~Mulan (not sure how she is a princess, but she is always refered to as one 😀 )
~Snow White
~Jasmine
~Aurora
The site contains fun activities for each available princess
~Digital Dress Up
~Games
~Videos
~Galleries
and more 😀
Valentine’s Day Cubeecraft Teddy Bears
These adorable little cubeecraft paper crafts are ready to print and be created, and best of all they are free printables. They make wonderful Decorations or a fun little gift.
As you can see from the image below, I changed the cubeecraft template to look as if the character is sitting down.
The feet tabs slide into openings that are cut on the body of the Teddy Bears.
When you are cutting out the teddy be sure to cut around the ears as well along the while line so that they stick up.
These even come with a printable candy heart that opens to display the mini candies.
Cut out the hearts as one piece. Be Sure They Do Not Get separated.
Fold the two hearts that have tabs together, color sides out.
Fold the last heart with no tab over the candy image.
This candy heart will slide into an opening on the right arm.
Be sure that you do not slide the heart without a tab in the hole. It needs to be able to open and close.
Cubeecraft.com Accepted Two of My Pieces
I have been making cubeecrafts since 2008, when I was first introduced to an awesome papercraft in the shape of a Stormtrooper. From then on I was in cubeecraft heaven.
At first I sent several requests, asking for characters that I desired, but I quickly found out that Chris Beaumont, the creator of Cubeecraft.com was a very busy person and could only complete a few requests at a time. That is when I decided to create my own cubeecrafts using his template.
It started out slow as I learned how these are put together and how it looks flat vs 3D.
Eventually I completed a couple and sent them in to be displayed. But sadly mine were never accepted. I never did let that discourage me and I continued to create. Eventually I started this website, joined facebook, and even created a deviantArt page to share my creations. I started taking requests and watching fans create my cubeecrafts.
I continued to follow cubeecraft.com, and as time went by my house has slowly filled up with some of my favorite characters, including many of my own creations and those of Star Wars.
A couple of months ago, right before the holidays, I received an email from Chris Beaumont. He had seen my cubeecraft of T-Bone from The Swat Kats and wished to display it on his site. My heart fluttered and I began dancing around my room (so glad this was not video chat hahaha).
Swat Kats T-bone 3D small1
I had to quickly compose myself and send back an email giving my permission to display. It was very difficult to not sound like a giddy little school girl with statements like, “OMG, I like think like that like would be totally awesome…like” or, “Yesyesyesyes you can post that I love your site so much!”
I am pleased to announce I was able to compose a rather simple message giving my permission to display my cubeecraft, “Thank you so much for your comment. You are more than welcome to post it on your site. I would be honored!”
While it may be a simple message, it was one of the most difficult to write. In my mind I was screaming with excitement. My finger trembled as I pressed each key, and I often pressed the wrong key spelling words so wrong that even spellcheck was dumbfounded. It took me near 30 minutes to compose the email, read through it several hundred times, and finally click send.
Two months later I get an email from Chris Beaumont getting one last permission to post T-Bone and (to my surprise) Razor. Of course I agreed.
And now, in all their Swat Kats glory, T-Bone and Razor are proudly displayed on Cubeecraft.com.
Honored and Extremely excited,
Cubeecraft of Dr. Wily from MegaMan
I bring to you from video game central the cubeecraft of Dr. Wily from MegaMan!!!! Actually he comes to you from my small yet efficient computer, but hey it is still exciting 😀
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This cubeecraft is more difficult than others. You have to cut around his hair on the left and right so that it will stick out when you fold the cubee.

Also, this character wears a lab jacket. The body was extended for this purpose. To put the body together simply fold up the base up into the jacket and slide the tabs through the wholes below the arms and on the back. Then weave the tabs back in so that they do not stick out.

To Build the Cubeecraft:
Materials needed:
Printer
Card stock
scissors
x-acto knife

To make:

  1. Cut out each item along the outer black lines.
  2. Cut along the white on each tab using the x-acto knife including in either side of the face
  3. Cut along each red line using the x-acto knife
  4. Fold along each inner solid black line and slide each tab into the slots you created with an x-acto knife to form a cube of the head, body, arms, and feet
  5. Slide the arms through the red slots on either side of the body.
  6. Slide the feet through the red slots at the base of the body.
  7. Slide the now completed body through the red lots of the head.

He is done. To download this cubeecraft click the links below and save them to your computer. Then print and create!

Cubeecraft of Rothbart from The Swan Princess

And now…Presenting..The Swan Princess Villain…ROTHBART!
Actually the character may not deserve that sort of entrance. However, my cubeecraft turned out spectacular. Although I must admit, his facial expressions makes him seem like he had just seen a gigantic spider. I know my face would be in anger and terror if I came upon a rather large eight legged monstrosity.

About the cubee
This cubeecraft is a little more difficult than your average cubee.

  1. The hair around the face must be cut out with a xacto knife. But be careful, Do not cut farther than the white line. Doing so could separate the side of the cubee making the head hard to form.
  2. The chin and lower parts of the mustache must also be cut along with the top part of the eyebrows.
  3. This character introduces a new accessory to the cubeecraft world. His cape. This must be cut along the outer black line. The fold in half along the solid horizontal line. Fold the two side in toward the red side. Fold the top down toward the red side and connect the tabs. This cape then slides over the top of the body before you put the head on.

To Build the Cubeecraft:
Materials needed:
Printer
Card stock
scissors
x-acto knife

To make:
BODY

  1. Cut out each item along the outer black lines.
  2. Cut along the white on each tab using the x-acto knife
  3. Cut along each red line using the x-acto knife
  4. Fold along each inner solid black line and slide each tab into the slots you created with an x-acto knife to form a cube of the head, body, arms, and feet
  5. Slide the arms through the red slots on either side of the body.

  7. Slide the now completed body through the red lots of the head.
