PAAS Galactic Eggs Makes Dyeing Eggs Out-of-This-World Fun!

I have found the coolest egg dyeing kit on this side of the galaxy! What a way to start a post, right? But this claim doesn’t come without merit. In fact, I bought this kit so my family could try it out. I don’t think we have had more fun dyeing eggs. Easter is going to be out of this world at my house!

The PAAS Galactic Egg dyeing kit comes with a ton of goodies. They include

  • 69 Stickers
  • 66 Glow in the dark stickers
  • 3 Liquid Dye pouches
  • 4 Egg stands
  • 3 Dye Tablets
  • 2 Accessory Sheets
  • 2 Small Bags
  • 1 Glitter Pouch
  • 1 Drying Tray
  • 1 Instruction Sheet
  • 1 Egg Dipper

This is enough awesomeness to decorate 24 eggs! What I love most about this kit is that there is no waiting if multiple kids are dyeing eggs. Some can be using the dye tablets and the others can use the pouches.

The dye tablets are placed in vintager and water. These create a solid color egg that can be decorated with stickers and glitter. The dye pouches use a cool technique that creates a galaxy in the egg. By dropping a couple of drops into the bag, adding the egg, and moving the egg around in the bag, we get an out of this world design!

Once the eggs are dried, they are ready for the epic stickers and display stands. The stickers feature planets, astronauts (PAAStronauts), asteroid’s, comets, galaxies, and more. Many of them glow in the dark and look awesome when the lights go off.

The stands are fun little cardboard crafts that require a little assembly. The back of the box comes with instructions on how to build the display stands with a few fun tips. The four stands are, Satellite, PAAStronaut, Rocket Legs, and UFO.

I love the Satellite and UFO display. The Satellite almost looks like it should be rotating just above the earth. The circular base gives the egg a place to rest while it is adorned with the Satellite arms.

The UFO turns an egg into an alien. Dye the egg green, coat with glitter and stick it on the UFO display. Now this egg has alien tentacles. Add Googley eyes and it becomes the best egg design ever!

The Rocket Legs are less usable. They tend to collapse under the weight of the egg. but for a few short moments, they do turn an egg into an egg-cellent rocket. I truly wish they were more sturdy because they are adorable.

The PAAStronaut is just the cutest thing. The base allows a little astronaut to float around the egg. I had to use a stock image for this one because our PAAStronaut didn’t make it to production. He is very fragile.

My family and I absolutely love this kit and I highly recommend it for Easter. It is great fun for the whole family. It is a hard one to find, but sometimes Amazon.com (affiliate link) has it for sale.

The PAW Patrol go on Heroic Adventures in Their Brand New DVD: PAW Patrol: Pups Save Rocket Ryder – Review

I received the chance to review PAW Patrol: Pups Save Rocket Ryder, and here are my thoughts.

PAW Patrol: Pups Save Rocket Ryder comes with eight rescue adventures episodes featuring many of our favorite PAW Patrol characters. Like other episode collections, this DVD continues the amazing journey as the pups rescue their friends, their town, and even each other from certain trouble. Through teamwork, determinations, and some of the best vehicles a pup can ask for, the PAW Patrol pups succeed where no other person or pup could.

The eight episodes included in PAW Patrol: Pups Save Rocket Ryder are as followed:

  • Pups Save the Dizzy Dust Express

This collection’s main focus is, of course, the rescue of Rocket Ryder. When Ryder’s ATV goes out of control, it takes the pups to jump in and save their speedy little friend. They do this by working together and coming up with a plan to get everyone to safety.. With an airlift, a screwdriver, and a water canon, the wild ride comes to an end without injuries. Pups Save Rocket Ryder is a fun and crazy adventure that all PAW Patrol fans will love to watch.

The other seven episodes are just as heroic as the Rocket Ryder Rescue. In Pups Save the Dizzy Dust Express, a train goes too fast and the pups must find a way to slow it down so it won’t derail. It is a thrilling adventure that keeps you wondering. When Ms. Marjorie, Tilly Turbot, and Mayor Goodway get stuck on a zipline, the Pups jump into action to assist their friends in Pups Save the Treetop Trekkers. Mayor Humdinger returns in Pups Save the Treasure Cruise. His plan to trick people to find treasure in icy cold waters leads to an epic fail making the pups roll into action to save everyone. Every episodes feature heroism at it’s finest and problem solving skills only the PAW Patrol can produce.

With so many adventures, this DVD is a Slam Dunk for any PAW Patrol fan. The eight episodes are engaging with crazy scenarios that require specific skills, vehicles, and, of course, the PAW Patrol Pups. Like every episode Spin Master has released, this episode collection continues the lessons of teamwork, problem solving, and helping others. I love it and give it 5 stars!

This DVD collection features the first several episodes of Season 1. Ingredients

  • 8 Baby Yellow Potatoes, sliced
  • 2 Carrots, sliced
  • 1 Yellow Onion, sliced
  • 1 Cup of Green Beans, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • Avacado Oil Spray
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Nori Sesame Seed Rice Seasoning (Furikale) to garnish

Directions

  1. Evenly distribute ingredients among 4 pieces of foil approximately 12″ x 12″, putting them in the center.
  2. Spray with avocado oil spray and season with salt and pepper
  3. Fold by aligning the edges and then fold those edges over creating a pouch
  4. Grill for 20 minutes over medium heat
  5. Carefully open and top with nori rice seasoning
  6. Serve and enjoy

When the Nick Jr. Spring is Here! DVD arrived in the mail, the bright colors and fan favorite characters attracted the whole family! Because this is a collection of shows, there is something for everyone. Have a PAW Patrol fan? There are two episodes featuring our favorite lovable pups hopping into action to save the Adventure Bay Easter Festival. Need a little Blue’s Clues and You! interaction? There are two episodes featuring Blue and her friends where fans can learn about the seasons and how everything grows in different ways, like fruits, and vegetables, We also get a Baby Shark’s Big Show episode and a Blaze and the Monster Machine episode.

I think one of my favorite episodes of the whole collection is when the PAW Patrol had to chase down a bunch of bunnies in PAW Patrol: Pups Save a Magic Trick. When a magic trick gets messed up, the pups must collect a whole lot of bunnies around town It is fun to watch how the pups problem solve and use teamwork to round them all up.

Blaze is collecting his Easter Eggs

Of course, continuing with the Easter theme, Blaze and the Monster Machines have their own episode featuring a race to collect 100 easter eggs in Blaze and The Monster Machines: The 100 Egg Challenge. In this episode, the first truck to collect 100 eggs wins a chocolate trophy. Blaze is confidant that he can win with the help of AJ and the audience. But can Blaze beat Crusher who is determined to win that delicious chocolate trophy? Fans will just have to watch, help, and see how Blaze does.

With so much spring time fun, wonderful fan favorites, and brilliant colors and characters, I give Nick Jr. Spring is Here episode collection 5 stars! There is something for everyone in this DVD!

Ube Crinkle Cookies Inspired By Blue’s Clues and You! Blue’s Big Baking Show

Blue’s Clues and You! Blue’s Big Baking Show is now available on DVD! Fans can join Blue in four fun food themed episodes! My family received a special way to celebrate the new DVD release with an amazing Blue’s Clues and You! mailer. Inside was everything we needed to throw a watch party: snacks and the DVD!

I think, what I like most about this mailer is that it gave my family a new food to try. It isn’t every day we run into Ube Crinkle Cookies (these cookies were supplied by Calajo Catering in LA).

Of course, before anyone could have a taste, I had to figure out what is Ube. For all you who are just as confused, here is what I found. Ube is a purple yam that is native to the Philippines. It isn’t a sweet potato but it has many attributes like one. It is often used in desserts or eaten with a lot of butter. The deep purple appearance is natural.

After my quick search, I opened the package and I tasted one. Absolutely delicious! And because the snack is technically a cookie, everyone in my house was willing to try them. The deep purple color was a little weird for Stormy, Before she took a bite, she sniffed the cookie. Let me be clear, she is not a dog. She must have learned this skill from our puppies.

In the end, everyone had a teste. We all loved them and wanted more! Now I need to learn how to make an Ube Crinkle Cookie and figure out where, in my town, I can find Ube.

Thankfully the internet isn’t far away and almost every recipe exists in that digital world. With just a couple of clicks I found a recipe that looks just like the ones provided in the Blue’s Clues and You! mailer. The Kitchn provides an excellent overview, ingredients, and directions to make these Ube cookies.

To make the cookies you will need:

  • 8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup ube halaya jam, such as Tropics
  • 1 teaspoon liquid purple food coloring (not gel)
  • 1 teaspoon ube extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Cubeecraft Papercraft of Luisa from Disney’s Encanto

One of the most popular characters from Disney’s movie, Encanto (affiliate link), is Mirabel’s older sister, Luisa. Blessed with the gift of strength, she’s the strong one, she’s not nervous, she’s as strong as the Earth is. Luisa does everything she can to matter and make her family proud. She never questions anything and always does what she is asked to do. However, from her song, Surface Pressure, we know that Luisa dreams of a vacation where she can just chill and maybe ride a donkey unicorn

Personally, I like the idea of flying on a DonkeyCorn not worried about life’s pressures. She looks so happy with the confetti and pink clouds. We all need those moments

Since Luisa is such a popular character, my email has exploded with requests to make her a cubeecraft. I started with Mirabel thinking she would be the go to character,…I was so wrong. So for all you Luisa fans that have emailed me with the dire need for one epic character to be made, I have created a printable cubeecraft papercraft of Luisa. This cubeecraft features Luisa in her purple/blue dress, white blouse and hair bun.

Like always, this cubeecraft requires no glue, It has interlocking tabs that slide into slots to form each pieces This Cubeecraft has two parts, and you will need both to complete it.

Materials needed:
Printer
Card stock
scissors
x-acto knife

To make:

  1. Cut out each item along the outer black lines.
  2. Cut along the white on each tab using the x-acto knife
  3. Cut along each red line using the x-acto knife
  4. Fold along each inner solid black line and lide each tab into the slots created with an x-acto knife to form a cube of the head, arms, and feet
  5. Fold along the base lines of the dress. Slide each tab into the slots created with an x-acto knife.
  6. Slide the arms through the red slots on either side of the dress.
  7. Slide the feet through the red slots at the base of the dress.
  8. Slide the no completed body through the red lots of the head.
